‼️‼️IMPORTANT UPDATE ‼️‼️

Kiaora whanau! It is with extreme frustration and disappointment we share that prize giving set for the 11th of September (friday) is postponed with a new date TBC! (Looking at Friday 25th) we the club apologize for any and every bit of inconvenience this has caused! The decision comes based on some precious taonga not being able to arrive until the 23rd of September, so again whanau we sincerely apologize for this and we hope you still look forward to joining with us and celebrating our year!

Wrapping up our blazer recognitions post whanau here are our last 5 club members!!

#1 Clifford Merriman-Another member of our club born into the maroon and gold! Son of the legend himself Regan Merriman (Life Member) and his mother Hannah (Life Member) Clifford is murupara through and through! A ex vice-president cliffs as tough as they come! Weather hes in the forwards or backs hes sure to leave his all out on the field!

#2 Taua Thompson-A quite achiever taua is that type of player that rolls his sleeve up and gets on with the job! Starting off as a mid-fielder now finding himself in the forwards hes always sure to give his best and lead by example!

#3 Pehitahi Gavigan-Another Member of the 2017 championship team pehi has been a regular feature in the mid field! A solid ball running and hard hitter on defense his growth as a player has been the stuff of champions! Always looking out for his brothers pehis always got backs!

#4 Weka Kirk-Another long time member on the netball scene weka has been apart of the club whanau for a few years now! Always energetic on court weather attacking or defending she's sure to bring that energy!

#5 Aunty Yvonne Teddy-As the old saying goes whanau we save the best for last!!

Her poster says it all! 32years of dedication to murupara! But aunty's journey start long before!

First playing for the club at age 13 (Hockey,softball) along side her aunty Noni,queenie and all of her cousins was where it all began! Playing netball and coming through the years it wasn't until the revitalization of the stingers and cruisers aunty was able to play along side all her sisters,and 2 sister in-laws,nieces and of course her daughter! Coaching them through the years she along with others guided them through some highs amd some lows, one of those highs being the stingers taking out the prem1 championship in 2019! Also a Nz c grade umpires badge holder her knowledge and experience in netball is of the top tier level!

An ex club president,vice president,secretary,treasurer and current netball delegate! Her service and dedication to MURUPARA is nothing short of inspirational! Aunty....we salute you and thank you for your unwavering support and aroha of your beloved club! We will always be grateful for you! And on behalf of YOUR CLUB!

#1 Jade Honeycombe- Jade was another outstanding young player we were lucky enough to secure straight out of RAUKURA! Not the biggest no7 in terms of stature but punched well above his weight! A fit and extremely physical player he is sure to leave his mark if you dare run straight into him!

#2 Steen Hale-Another member of the 2017 2nd division winning side steen has been a proud and loyal member ever since! A block busting runner with the ball in hand and a intimidating defender steens always leading from the front when times get tough!

#3 Stacy Keepa-Teddy-Another of our club whanau born into the maroon and gold Stacy has been a long serving member of the club! Also a o.g cruiser and long time stinger she applied her skills for a number of years before jetting over the ditch for awhile! Since moving home she's worn the colour's with pride!

#4 Pouaru Tawhara-Pou is another club member whose loyalty is strong! Been in the maroon and gold colors since way back she always brings the energy and good wairua! A person always looking out for her team mates!

ANNUAL KURANGAITUKU TOURNAMENT!

Today marks the start of the annual kurangaituku tournament and this weekend we have our MURUPARA A team compenting and representing the club! After a stellar season going all the way to the top our girls look to carry that on into this tournament and at the same time strengthening their bond as a playing group while having abit of fun!! The club and our supporters alongside your whanau wish youse all the very best ladies! We're all nothing but proud!

#1 Mack Mapu- The youngest member of the 2026 commitee (Club Captain) Mack shows wisdom well beyond his years! A true competitor much like his mum (Jamie) hes always willing to put his body on the line (Literally) Macks biggest supporter was his nanny penny and I know she will be extremely proud of the man he has become!

#2 Tipene O'bee- One of the more experienced (old-er 😊) campaigners among the lads tipene is Mr reliable! Weather in the forwards or backs Stevie will answer the call were ever hes needed! But most of all hes a true gentlemen! Always looking out for the younger lads a true inspiration to the up and coming generation!

#3 Lee Tapsell-Two words to describe Lee "Fiercely Loyal" she is the ultimate competitor! Firm but fair and under that hardened exterior she's the most caring and loving person who will go to the ends of the earth for those she loves! A prem1 championship coach lee is another that bleeds maroon and gold!!

#4 Maidee McPherson-Bursting on to the scene in 2017 maids was a key member in the prem1 winning side coached by lee! A quiet achiever who doesn't say much maids let's all her talking be done on the court! A loyal supporter of the netball and the club! She's another person fitting of this recognition!

#1 Francis Hanuera-Frank comes from a long and strong lineage connected to the club! His nanny and koro being life members and his father a blazer holder frank was always destined to follow in there foot steps! Another person making his debut as a teen he has been a trail blazer for his error!

#2 Dorso Porima-Horne-As a promising young star fresh out of a winning campaign with RAUKURA in 2015 the club was lucky enough to secure dorsos services! A pivotal piece to the puzzle helping guide the team to a 2nd division win in 2017 dors has been a pillar amongst the lads leading the way both on and off the field!

#3 Khylie Pirini-Khylie is a long serving member of our club and a long time player on the netball seen! Always reliable and never about herself khylie is the penultimate team player and is always putting others first! Not to mention all her yummy baking she makes for the club Lol!

#4 Kirsten Merriman-Another club member with a strong tie to our club kirst has growing up in the maroon and gold! An o.g cruiser and long time stinger kirst is always ready to asnwer the call when she's needed, someone who always plays with passion and pride safe to say this milestone has been a long time coming!

FATTY NUKU MEMORIAL TROPHY CHALLENGE!!

It's that time of the year whanau! FATTY TIME!

Saturday 22nd of august sees the club head down to the wharua of ruatoki whanau to challenge for our TAONGA and bring our koro HOME!!!
A time where we remember all those who have gone before us and worn our jersey with pride!!

We will gather at the club at approximately 830am for karakia before we depart at 9am! We will then stop at awakeri at 10am to meet those traveling from out of town and at 1030am we will make our way to Tauarau marae Ruatoki for the pohiri at 11am!
Kick off is at 2pm!!

We encourage ALL our club whanau to head down and support the ladz in there quest to bring our taonga home!
FATTY to us is not just a game,but a way of life!
So get behind the ladz and get loud on the sideline! LETS BRING KORO HOME!! 🟡🔴🏆

#1 Charles Keepa-Teddy-Born and bred into the club Chaz made his debut at 15 years old!He's lead the team as captain,held the role as coach and 20 years later hes proud to serve his whanau as club president! A proud MURUPARA man his dream is to leave behind a legacy his Club,Community and most importantly his whanau will be proud of!

#2 Daryl Tipuna-Affectionately known az DAZZA-BLUE Daryl joined the murupara club whanau 13years ago and now hes apart of the furniture! A humble man from frasertown daz is always lending a hand,donating kai and along side his whanau supporting the club in anyway he can!

#3 Jessica Higgins-Jess is a long time member of the club and is the "Go-To" person when things need to be done! Always organizing,planning and making sure things are in order Jess is well deserving of this accolade!
