Congratulations so far to our Mens teams who have secured a semi final spot next week!
Reserve men drew 1-1 in normal time then lost in a shoot out to Spr but go through to top 4 as highest losers and Div 1C upset round robin winners Mgp B in drawing the game then winning their shootout to go through to the top 4 play offs, congrats teams and good luck!
Our RS Eng Premier men won round robin and are straight through to the final on Sat 22nd!

On Saturday 25 July, Kensington Park will turn pink as Hockey, Football, Netball and Rugby come together to celebrate Positive Vibes Only (PVO) Day.

Positive Vibes Only is about creating a fun, supportive, and respectful sporting environment for everyone. Whether you're a player, coach, official, whānau member, or supporter, we all have a part to play in making sport a positive experience.

PVO encourages sidelines filled with encouragement, respect, and enjoyment—helping young people build confidence, thrive, and develop a lifelong love of sport.

Throughout the day, our PVO Champions will be out and about celebrating positive sideline behaviour and helping spread the positive vibes.

So wear your pink, bring your positivity, and join us in making Kensington Park a place where everyone enjoys the game.

Gilbert Enoka spent 23 years building one of the most influential coaching portfolios in New Zealand rugby.

Then he walked away from it.

After the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Enoka stepped back from the All Blacks. Said it was time to pass the baton. Spent two years consulting outside the programme, England Cricket, Chelsea FC. Different sports, different cultures, different problems.

Dave Rennie brought him back.

His opening line on return: "Go in with my ears open."

The thing worth noticing isn't that he came back. It's why Rennie wanted him specifically. He didn't bring Enoka back for what he'd built in 23 years. He brought him back for what the two years outside had added.

The cross-sport experience gave the programme something it couldn't generate internally. An external reference point. A broader lens. Different questions.

Coaches who stay in one environment their whole career develop deep expertise. That's valuable. But they also develop deep assumptions about what's possible, about what culture can look like, about what athletes need.

Coaches who've worked across different sports and contexts, and come back with those experiences, bring something harder to manufacture.

They bring perspective.

Bill Walsh never talked about winning.

He talked about what excellence looked like on a Tuesday.

Three Super Bowls with San Francisco. His Standards of Performance framework: if you got the details right and held the standard consistently, the results would follow. Not eventually inevitably.

His coaching staff were not allowed to speculate about results. Not in meetings, not on the practice field, not in the building. The process was the conversation. The process was the work.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. A few weeks from going to the World Cup, inside a programme working with half its previous HP budget, with a group that has everything to prove.

The temptation in that environment is to focus on what's at stake. On what happens if the results don't come. On what it means for funding and the forward path.

Walsh would call that the wrong conversation.

The right conversation is: what does our training look like today? What's the standard in the next session? Are we living the process right now, with this group, in these conditions?

The outcome isn't yours to control. The standard in front of you is.

Consistency isn't the thing you have when conditions are good. It's the thing you build so that performance is available when conditions aren't.

The score takes care of itself. But only if the work that precedes it is worth it.
