We wrapped up our season on Sunday with an awards ceremony at the BEACH BAR. It was an awesome day, and we'd like to thank Joey and his staff for hosting us.

The occasion was all about celebrating the achievements of our players and the club, in our second year. We started the season with two age grades and 19 players, and we finished with five age grades and 53 registered players. This growth reflects not just the development of our club but also the sport of Flag Football.

There are many highlights from the season, far too many to mention here. Notably, two of our own, Brianna Bell and Xavier Bell, made the NZ National teams and will be travelling to LA later this winter. We wish them the best as they represent New Zealand and the Sharks.

Other memorable moments include our U10 team, which competed in the American Football Auckland Incorporated tournament, winning all five games to take home the title. Additionally, our U17 team entered the NZ nationals for the first time and finished 5th overall, winning their last two games to conclude the tournament on a high note. Our U12 team also showed great improvement throughout the season, winning games with just five players against larger teams.

Lastly, our newly formed Legends team (over 35s) played their first-ever games under the guidance of Coach Greg Maaka. We thank him for his hard work in making this happen.

We'd also like to take a moment to thank our sponsors this year for your continued support: Renew Osteopathy, JeRo Internet Engineering Ltd, Kellski Creative, and Capes Medical Supplies

A date for your diaries. We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our second Sharks Flag Football tournament on Sunday, November 1st, at Oceandowns Reserve. More details will follow soon.

We also want to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the parents, coaches, committee members, and players for making our club truly exceptional. Without your support, we wouldn't be where we are today!

We can’t wait for next season as the club continues to grow! If you know anyone interested in trying out a fun and inclusive new sport, invite them to join us. Be sure to keep an eye on our social media for updates on events we’ll be hosting during the off-season.

Go Sharks 🦈🏈💪
