Well despite predicted weather bomb , yesterday at TectPark Gravel Sprint was fantastic conditions run perfectly by a fantastic crew it ran like clockwork.
We had the Evo1V out for skids and to some young ones for Hot laps which I just happen to like doing , just over before it' starts , could do it all day , all involved had smiles all round and it was self propelled onto trailer at end of day , all washed up ready for next outing.

“Understanding the road one note at a time.”

At Work Road Motorsport Bay of Plenty on Sunday, I got the chance to sit alongside Derek Payne but more importantly, I got to start doing the job properly.

Writing my own notes.
Reading the road ahead.
Understanding how timing works and how much every call matters.

Learning how tight each corner really is…
how the speed changes everything…
and how the position of the car on entry and exit affects what I need to say and when.

It’s not just calling corners it’s about being ahead of the car.
Knowing when to speak, how early to call, and staying consistent the whole run.

Hopefully this translated into better speed for Derek, and gave him confidence in me to make the calls.

Yes, I might be 12 years old
but I’m focused on writing clear notes and delivering every call on time, clean, and consistent.

Every corner teaches you something.
Every run you get better.

This wasn’t just an experience… it was progress.

Huge thank you to Derek Payne for trusting me with the opportunity and helping me start learning it properly.

This is exactly what I want to keep building on.

What a fantastic day at TeAroha DirtKart Champs on Sunday, some great battles and heaps of close racing and some too close lol, kart is all straight and steering alignment is all sorted for next outing . Track degradation played out in end as last heats were only 6 laps not 8 , but hey still epic . Thanks to all that enabled this to happen 🙏👌🏁

Well last 3 weeks in rehab after knee rehab , after a meniscus tear surgery. All gud now . So onto a bit of Rotax refurb on these two beautiful things for new season of Dirt Karts . Clients should be happy with total health checks top and bottom , lite bead blast and bearings , rings pistons as required. So if ya motor is a lil tired and needs a fresh up for season , PM and I can fit ya in . Genuine parts only , motors are my passion Payne Motorsports.

Well it's bin a while almost 12 months since we locked and loaded and went off to shred some gravel thanks to Rob & Tim at RPM Automotive Tauriko Tga.forcthe trailer and Wof so we , Boots Ryan and myself can head to Otorohanga for the NIRSS rnd at Hoddle Rd 10 ks of flowing gravel rd. Few cobwebs to dust of but car all refurbished and gleaming . Weather well that's another story.

Just chucking it out there , Sir Peter Beck to be Prime Minister , founder and CEO of Rocket Lab NZ , our gov needs a Rocket up it , nothing has happened in neat on 5 months , what we currently have is not that far of if not kissing the ass of what we had . Luxton keeps on changing his tools and blaming them rather than just solving the tasks at hand. Just my rendering but a grt option should he step up.
