Quick-fire with RAW member, Lillee.

Fav RAW class?
CrossFit. I enjoy the lift/skill component alongside the WOD, as it gives me the chance to focus on and practice specific movements, rather than only working on them within the WOD. That said, a cheeky capacity class definitely goes hard too, you’re guaranteed a good sweat.

Outside the gym?
You’ll usually find me working shifts as an ICU nurse or out for coffee. Training at Raw helps me find balance, both mentally and physically, especially after a long shift.

Fav thing about RAW?
Being part of the RAW Whānau. The values and vibe of the gym make it feel like a home away from home. After a hectic day, you can always count on a good laugh when you walk in and leave feeling uplifted.
A standout memory for me would be Team Nats last year. Watching the RAW teams place was awesome, but what really stood out was the sportsmanship and atmosphere during the finals. The encouragement and support at RAW is truly unmatched.

Quick-fire questions with RAW member, Augustin 🔥

Fav class?
Capacity is probably my favourite. I really enjoy the high cardio side of it, especially anything that includes running - kind of like a HYROX-style workout.

Outside the gym?
I like to keep up with running and a bit of surfing. I work full-time as a barista, and I also train people who want to learn how to make coffee.

Fav thing about Raw?
Definitely the community. From my first week, everyone was super friendly and there was no judgement around fitness levels. The coaches have been really supportive too - they’ve helped me keep pushing, and after about a year of training I managed to get my first ring muscle-up!

Kia ora team,

Coach Cullam here.

I’ve been involved in CrossFit for over a decade now, and it’s shaped not just how I train, but how I live, coach, and show up every day.

What drew me in was the challenge. The constant pursuit of being better, stronger, fitter, more capable. But what’s kept me here is the impact it has on people. Seeing someone hit their first pull up, lift a weight they never thought possible, or simply walk out of the gym more confident than when they walked in, that’s what it’s all about for me.

Over the years, I’ve moved into coaching and programming, working with athletes of all levels, from everyday members to elite competitors chasing the next level. My focus is simple, help people understand the why behind their training, build real capacity, and create progress they can be proud of.

I believe great coaching is more than just writing workouts or counting reps. It’s about connection. Knowing when to push, when to pull back, and how to get the best out of someone on any given day.

Outside of the gym, I’m a big family man. Most of my time is spent with my partner and our little one, keeping life busy in the best way. I’m also a big F1 fan, love keeping up with racing, and enjoy anything that lets me switch off and recharge outside of training.

At Raw, I’m all about building strong humans, physically and mentally. Whether you’re here to compete or just be fitter for life, my goal is that you leave every session better than you came in.
