We are all thinking of the May family at this time

The New Zealand harness racing community has lost one of its true stalwarts.

After nearly 75 years in the sport, Terry May leaves behind an extraordinary legacy as a trainer, driver, breeder and horseman, as well as a proud member of one of harness racing's great families.

Our thoughts are with Ricky, Judy and the entire May family at this difficult time.

It was down to the wire with one point separating 1st & 2nd but it was the LEADING LADIES taking the win!

A write up on today’s race meeting on HRNZ

With four teams of three, each of the invited driver races provide an opportunity for a penalty free win for the winning horse’s connections. Representing the local Methven team are Leo, Gerard and Sarah O’Reilly, who look to have a strong book between them.

We are excited this week to be hosting the PlaceMakers Ashburton & Matt Smith Construction METHVEN INVITED DRIVERS SERIES!

Over the past couple years we have had different variations of this series but this year we have some of our best drivers from around the country competing in 4 teams of 3 drivers against each other in 5 plenty free races! The teams are.......

⭐️TEAM RISING STARS- Wilson House, Harrison Orange & Sam Thornley

🏆TEAM PREMIERSHIP LEADERS- Zachary Butcher, Ricky May & John Dunn

💃TEAM LEADING LADIES- Sam Ottley, Crystal Hackett & Sheree Tomlinson

Along side the driver series we also have our feature race the $20,000 MT HUTT CUP over 3000m!
