!! FDD WHEELBARROW RACE !!

We’ve been busy brainstorming with the track management team at Meremere Dragway to come up with new and exciting entertainment ideas for you all to enjoy!

Throughout the Top 8 shootout, there are gaps we need to have in order for the fastest cars to have a safe and optimal track surface. When we get to the finals, we have to give the track crew some time to prep so we can run the Top 8 shootout on a safe and fresh track.

So… we have come up with the idea of having a ✨Wheelbarrow Race!✨ Two teams. Each team consisting of one father and one child. One will push, the other will enjoy the ride in the barrow. They will race using the Xmas tree lights, with the winner being the better reaction time, so don’t worry - you won’t have to go the full length of the strip 😆

The event will be held near the end of the Top 8 shootout. This will run on a ‘first in, best dressed’ basis. Only 2 teams (2 Dads and 2 Kids) will compete. We will supply the barrow.

Overall winner gets x2 FREE FDD T-Shirts & a $50 MTA Petrol voucher!
Best overall reaction also gets a $50 MTA Petrol voucher!

Racers Info: Post 1948 USA and AUS V8 cars only. No imports, no buckets. All entries are at the discretion of the American Muscle Car Club. Current WOF, registration and drivers licence required. IHRA or NZDRA licenses accepted. Cars must have bonnets. Helmet and correct footwear must be worn. No slick tyres or passengers permitted. DYO racing format. Vehicles under 11.0 ET will be required to be IHRA or NZDRA compliant: (Tech inspected with logbook, IHRA or NZDRA licence for driver). All support crew must come in with the racer due to parking restrictions in the pitt area. Scrutineering starts 8am.
