We would like to advise that the access bridge to the eastern side of the airport will be closed during business hours from 13 March while emergency repair work is carried out.

These works are necessary to address structural issues identified on the bridge and must be completed as soon as possible to ensure the safety of all users.

The closure will apply during normal working hours. After hours and on weekends, temporary road plates will be installed to allow limited vehicle access across the bridge.

During business hours, vehicle access to the eastern side of the airport will be extremely limited. If essential access is required, please contact us in advance so that arrangements can be made where possible.

Foot access will remain available. However, for safety reasons, anyone moving around the eastern side of the airport on foot must wear high-visibility clothing.

FINALLY!!!!

Waikato District Council needs to close Koheroa Road at Mercer from 12 April to 5 May 2023 to through traffic, at all times.

The closure, between Glass Road and Kellyville Road, will allow their partners, Waikato District Alliance to carry out extensive slip repair work.

The detour route is via Pioneer Road’s intersection with SH1 and down Kellyville Road.

Residents, Te Paina School and emergency services have been informed about the closure.

Weather-permitting, the New Zealand Aerobatic Club will be holding the latest round of the MercerComps aerobatic competition TODAY Saturday 4th June, at Mercer Airport. Further details are available on their website www.aerobatics.co.nz

The airfield remains open, however, expect possible radio advice on aerobatic activity if you are joining or flying nearby.

we advise pilots to keep well clear of Mercer Airport if transitting the MBZ during this time unless visiting for the event.

A NOTAM will be issued in the morning if the event proceeds.
