🎱 Drawn Scotch Pairs Club Champs 🎱

A fabulous day had by all! We had a smaller field today, with the change of date for Four Corners meaning some of our players couldn’t join us.

The pairings were well balanced across the field, making it anyone’s game. Plenty of great battles on the tables and some close frames throughout!

🏆 Winners – Kat & Dan
Today went your way! Congratulations to you both—you’ve now got your names on a trophy!

🥈 Runners-up – Hannah & Bob
An awesome effort and just unlucky at the final hurdle. Some great frames that could easily have gone either way!

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such an enjoyable day. A smaller field, but still plenty of fun and friendly competition!

🎱 Matamata RSA Juniors🎱

At the Senior/Junior competition at Tauranga Citz!

We had five pairings taking to the tables today, with some awesome shooting from our juniors:

• Mano & Lily
• Meilah & Kevin
• Chloe & Craig
• Mackenzie & Ellie
• Onyx & Hannah

What an amazing day! For some juniors, it was their first Senior/Junior competition, and it was fantastic to see them enjoying themselves, learning and giving it their all.

Kevin & Meilah were our only pairing to qualify for the Main, where they were unfortunately knocked out in the first round. Well done to you both! 👏

The rest of us headed into the Plate, where there were some incredibly close games! We could see the kids getting tired as the day went on, but they kept going and should be proud of their efforts.

Chloe & Craig and Onyx & Onyx made it all the way to the Plate semi-finals! What an achievement for Chloe and Onyx at their very first Senior/Junior competition—that definitely deserves a high five! 🙌

Well done to all our juniors, and a big thank you to their senior partners for supporting and encouraging them throughout the day.

A full day of 8 Ball takes plenty of concentration, so I think they’d all slept well! Hope you all had a great day.

Here’s a few snaps of the event…

Have a junior in mind? That’s hasn’t started playing 8 Ball yet? But could possibly enjoy the sport? Bring them on down on a Wednesday night at Matamata RSA and we will guide them and teach them…

🎱FIRST CNZ CLUB CHAMPS🎱

CNZ Mixed Pairs 2026

What a great day for our very first CNZ Club Championship!

We had 8 pairs take to the tables, with a few familiar faces missing that would’ve easily pushed us over 10 pairs. Hopefully next year we can make it even bigger!

There was a great balance across all the pairs, with some awesome games and plenty of close frames throughout the day.

We kicked things off with a Round Robin – Best of 3, meaning everyone got to play everyone. Section play was wrapped up by 1pm, and we had the whole competition finished by 3pm – not bad at all!

Congratulations to Jason & Chloe, our Top Qualifiers overall!

The finals were fantastic to watch, with some very close frames and great battles on the tables!

🏆 MAIN
Winners: Tahn & Hannah – 3
Runners-up: Butch & Kat – 1

🥇 PLATE
Winners: Craig & Mackenzie – 3
Runners-up: Brian M & Lily A – 2

A massive thank you to Meilah for running such a smooth competition – clearly takes after her mother! 😂👏

A fantastic start to our CNZ Club Champs, and hopefully the first of many. Thanks to everyone who played and supported the day.

Bring on the next one!
