I've co-written an ebook that I'm really proud of ...

It's about life: surviving, striving, driving, and caring and the symptoms that appear when we don't feel aligned with our choices in life.

I have researched and coached human potential and leadership for over 35 years and have lived in all those roles.

Despite so much research, our ebook is less than 100 pages, and we wanted to keep it simple. Life is complicated enough.

I love my family and friends very much, and I appreciate all the support and love you have given me. However, the most support and belief when I didn't believe in myself came from my gorgeous Mum, Dianne Jull my co-writer and artist Sarah and my amazing husband, Nigel Carrick.

How about using valentines πŸ’˜ day to give yourself some kudos.

The studies show that our relationships are a BIG factor in our longevity and happiness. The relationship we have with ourselves is crucial to show up as our best in relationships at work, home and play.

All the gains, the hills climbed and the valleys negotiated in your lifetime are amazing. You deserve self-compassion and pride in your gains.

The gap between now and the future we want is reduced when we learn to enjoy now for more aligned impact everyday.

Whatever the future brings, right now today you can say β€œwell done” and enjoy those around you βœ…

Why do you overwork? Is it more than "lots to do", and is it reducing your impact?

According to a Stanford University study, productivity plummets once a workweek exceeds 50 hours. Over time, efficiency and output decline with every additional hour, with the 60-hour mark proving particularly detrimental.

Questions to ask yourself in terms of your approach to work:

Do you stay late at work or work from home late?
Do you sacrifice your free time and hobbies to finish work-related tasks?
Do you think about work often when you are not working?
Does your work schedule interfere with your relationships with your friends and family?
Do you feel uneasy when you don’t work?
Do people around say you work too much?
Do you overwork because it feels like you "must"?

An intention is an internal focus on growing your relationship with yourself now and in the future. Who you want to be, your presence.

By aligning yourself in the moment of performing any task that moves you toward your impactful goal, you can raise your emotional energy, leading to increased physical energy and vitality.

What if it was how you focused your Time, Energy, and Impact?

1. How we use our Time - a precious commodity that is limited and irreplaceable. It is essential to utilise each minute wisely, as it cannot be regained.

2. How we manage our Energy - a valuable resource sourced from physical, mental, emotional, and inspirational connection to something greater. We can tap into this resource whenever we need it.

3. The focus of our Impact - the way we choose to influence ourselves and the world around us. It's about defining who we want to be and our role in the world.

Studies research identified the three main meta-skills:

1. Self-awareness
2. Creativity
3. Vitality (Resilience)

These three create the most significant impact in the modern workplace. We all need our best human skills in today's fast world. What got us here won't get us there.

What represents Freedom to you?

Somewhere along the way, the dance of our lives becomes intricate. We can find ourselves entangled in the complexities of our emotions amongst the demands of the world around us. Entering cycles of overthinking, second-guessing, and questioning can leave us feeling stuck, lonely, disempowered and a little lost.

Add the behaviour of over-trying (extended hours in overtime or lost time) to help us calibrate our sense of success and worth - we can find ourselves heading more often into a familiar world of overwhelm.

Our pursuit for more joy and fulfilment can veer off course, leaving us questioning where and who we are, our purpose, and a sense of a gap where something is missing - our sense of Freedom to Thrive where we are.

After 6 yrs in business, we have compiled an ebook with much love containing our best proven practices for you to self-lead your 2024 toward more Freedom.

We have all experienced the person who comes late, is in a rush, is flustered, and then perhaps rushes everyone else to get to the objective of the meeting faster and loses people on the journey. Yep, I've been the late, pushy, overwhelmed, and over-trying one too.

What is the general pace of the meetings you attend, and how do you impact that pace?

When you are the leader present, not necessarily the chair of the meeting, what impact does your entrance and engagement pace during the meeting have on the presence of the other people in the room?

We will never fully know, but we can learn about the impact on ourselves and start leading it from there.

I meet and support business owners and leaders every day. Sometimes, it takes 10-15 minutes for them to slow down for their 30-minute conversation. Then, they slow down to be at their best, present, creative, strategic and objective. This is the leader who supports their teams to flourish. They learn how to create this in any setting and sustain it.

However, that's the time it takes when they don't have anyone to influence or consider but themselves (I don't count I'm there for their agenda)

Their bodies are in hyperdrive, and so are their brains. I now usually start the conversation with techniques that slow down them more quickly. We both want the best out of them in their opportunities to create more impact.

The questions below are for your reflection, the impact on you, and what you can create now and in the future.

What keeps you fully present, to connect with your team, and to check THEIR pace AND the pace and rhythm of meetings?

We can perform at the next level of leading & getting under the surface of our own thinking and agenda's to connect to others more effectively.

Yesterday I was with three different people who were so inspiring and I loved my time with them.

They were telling me about their current challenges and lives and moments which were painful for them. Beyond the stories they are telling themselves are their strengths, their opportunities, how they can believe in their future.

I 'noticed' my own thinking while they talked and put my own agenda aside to lead them to get the insights they need.

Opening up the space to explore those possibilities to create new insights is is something we can cultivate .... it's a skill. We can keep focusing on telling them what to do, or we can elevate our own thinking first to let them grow.

The first step is always with us ..... the power of the pause to see our thinking and our possibilities.... so they can see their's.

How do we Thrive? We can leverage any situation with Intention AKA as Choices.... everyday.

We spent time with several people over the past few weeks, making so many unintentional choices about how they view their situations.

Some of those choices are patterns that go back so many years and are wired in their brains. They don't even see them as choices any more. They think that is how the world is ... it seems like the truth.

At the WaVE, we talk about mindfulness, presence, and being focused on now. We know it makes lives better when we practice being present.

We practice too (we aren't superhuman, so we are still practising too!) Mindfulness in leadership is all awareness of our thoughts and the choices we make in our lives and our leadership unintentionally.

What change would you make if you chose it and remained committed to it for 6 weeks ... and then for life.

You might believe you can or can't, and that's a choice, too ... is it intentional?
