Planning time at Wellington Wairarapa Gliding Club! ✈️
Just a bunch of us around the table, we are mapping out the annual inspection schedule to ensure the entire fleet is airworthy, safe, and ready for the skies.
How do the rules work?
In New Zealand, gliding is regulated under NZ Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Rules Part 104 and Part 149.
The CAA delegates authority to Gliding New Zealand (GNZ) to manage our operations.
Under the GNZ Manual of Approved Procedures, every single glider must pass a comprehensive "Annual Review of Airworthiness" inspection.
We go over the airframe, check manufacturer lifed items, and log everything in the Tech Log before the aircraft can be released to service.
Big thanks to everyone volunteering their time to keep us flying safely under NZ standards! 🛠️📖
