It was a very WINDY day on the course, but otherwise the conditions were fine! π¬οΈποΈββοΈ
We had 20 players tee it up for Skins, although unfortunately only 19 managed to finish. Clearly the wind claimed one victim! π

Saturday 5th Sepetember
In overcast but otherwise fine weather 26 members turned out for club day this week. The competition was Stableford. The winner on the day was Sarah Broughton with an impressive 42 points. Suzanne Cookson was second on count back with 36 points. Also on 36 points were Andrew Brown (3rd on count back) and Nicola Warren (4th on count back) in 5th place was Rob Hogget O'Neale (35 points) and in 6th was Kam Barham (34 points). Nearest the Pin awards were made to Melanie Jane Walker (hole #4/13) and Phil Patterson (hole # 5/14). The birdie pot hole was #2 and was not struck. The pot now stands at $114 and will be up for grabs on our next club day on Saturday 19 September 2026 when the game will be Net.
Next weekend, 12 - 13 September, the annual Womenβs Open will be held. This is one of our significant tournaments and we have players representing 18 clubs from as far afield as the Bay of Islands. The Tournament Director, Mel Walker, is looking for volunteers to support on-course activities including, ball spotting and bunker raking. If you are not playing and wish to assist - let Mel know.
