Tararua Builders Racing is a road cycling racing team made up of riders mostly from the Wairarapa. We are committed to promoting all that is cycling.

Congratulations to all of the Cat 3 and Cat 4 riders who rode in the Trust House North Island Team series on Sunday. Duncan Cameron scored a 9th place in Cat 3 and Chris Smith a 5th in Cat 4. A great ride despite the adverse wet, windy and cold conditions as well as the mixed form of all the riders due to lockdown. (Apologies for the lack of photos!)

The 2021 edition of the Trust House North Island team series is all go at Level 2 and Mike Wilkinson our team sponsor is ecstatic. We look forward to seeing you out there this spring.

How do we start this post!!??? It’s definitely one for the Tararua Builders Racing Facebook archive... both teams scored their best ever result in the teams classification of the Trust House North Island team series with the Category 4 team (top photo) winning their class and the Category 3 team placing 3. A fantastic showing all round and to really top of the spring season Peter James (bottom photo) scores a win ( in Cat 4) in the final race of the series. Love the fist pump BEFORE the line!

The training during the winter paid off and there couldn’t be a better tribute to our fellow rider Darren Southon and his son Josh. RIP.

Success for Tararua Builders Racing on Sunday with Duncan Cameron (bottom photo) taking out a win in Catagory 4 of the Trust House North Island Team Series. It was a HUGE showing by the team with 5 riders coming in the top 10 giving the team the lead in the teams catagory. It was a tough and gutsy display of riding in cold and wet conditions with both the Cat 3 and 4 teams showing valour all round. Next up on November 29th will be final race of the series where the race will head up into the Bideford and Whangaehu areas North of Masterton. See you out there!

Tararua Builders Racing continues on its path of success in the Trust House North Island team series with Pete James (right top photo) gaining a second place finish in the Cat 4 criterium race. He was supported by a great team including the one and only Mike Wilkinson (front bottom photo) who just happens to be the boss down a Tararua Builders. Both the Cat 3 and 4 teams also gained a 3rd place in the TTT (team time trial) which was a fine result.

The teams are now preparing to tackle Race 4 of the series on Sunday November 8 which will have the only hill top finish in the series. Be great to see you supporting the team and the race on the road up to Rangitumau...

Success for Tararua Builders Racing with Richard van Lent (top right) and Warwick Burr (bottom right) both gaining a podium spot in Race two of the Trust House North Island Team series. An outstanding effort by both teams (Catagory 3 and 4) which now sets them up well for the series. Great to see the new team kit on stage!!

The team lining up with their new kit in Alfredton for a reccy of race one of the Trust House Team Series on Sunday 27th September. There will be two laps of a 34km circuit for both the Catagory 3 and 4 teams entered into this years race.

Thanks Jorge Sandoval for the initiative on this new and rugged course.

Tararua Builders Racing has begun its training for the Trust House North Island team series despite the challenges of 2020. The team knocked out a good session around the Carrington circuit west of Carterton on Saturday giving us all a chance to find our legs while racing as a team. Important for the racing ahead.

For 2020 we will be riding for Tararua Builders and owner/team member Mike Wilkinson who has stood by the team since 2014. A huge shout out for Eastwood Motor group who are supplying vehicles for the race convoy in the series.

We look forward to seeing you out there on the road.

SUCCESS for Tararua Builders Racing. A fantastic way to finish the Trust House North Island Team Series with a win by Eddy Kuipers in the final race of the Masters Two (45-54) race. Training for this series started with full squad sessions in June and many stories have been carved into the chronicals of the team. Finishing like this caps off the story line of 2018 perfectly. For Race 5 itself this podium would not have been possible without the sacrifice of team riders who continually attacked the other teams throughout the race. This allowed the lead out and sprint riders to line up and dominate the final 3 kms... It was a total team effort and the win was the tip of the perfect iceberg.

Of course the support for our team goes even deeper... A HUGE thankyou to our support crew and major sponsors. Without them the perfect iceberg would only be a small ice cube.
