The Walker Four Ball Qualifying gets underway tomorrow, with the first group under the starter’s orders at 11.00am.

Get your team organised and entered for what is always a popular event on the club calendar.

Unfortunately this weekends Intercollegiate Golf Tournament has been postponed until later in the year.

The Mahunga Golf Course will now be open to all members and green fee players every day this long weekend. The Saturday and Sunday club days will run as usual. Saturday's club competition now be a Par round.

❄️Winter conditions are beginning to arrive, but the golf at Mahunga is still going strong.

🎉A huge congratulations to our Division 5 interclub side who defeated Otaki 12.5–2.5 at home on Saturday to finish in an unbeatable position at the top of the table and secure the division title by just half a point. A fantastic team effort from Rod Dravitzki, Stu Northe, Jason Walker, Suele Soromon, Brent Woodmass, Geoff Ewington, Damion Kauika, Jason Pauku, Kurt Karaitiana and Karl Burling.

⛳Division 9 also had a strong home win, beating Karori 11–4. Match winners were Nuisila Fa'aiuaso, Rodney Flood, Aaron Wilson, Wayne Evans, Laurence Butler and Bobby Kahui.

We look forward to hosting Otaki for Division 5 and Karori for Division 9 today.

The teams tee off from 9am onwards, so there will be no tee times available off number 1 until they have all gone.

⛳Course conditions at Mahunga Golf Club continue to improve with tree felling and removal work now complete. Fairways and greens are already visibly showing the benefits from the increased light and airflow around the course.
⚠️There are still burn piles on the course, these are hot. PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE BURN PILES!

⛳Saturday’s Stableford round attracted a competitive field with Shane Hawkins taking out Group One on 35 points ahead of Pete Hawkins on 34. Nic Harding claimed third on countback from Kevin Gibbs after both players finished on 31 points. There were no twos recorded for the round.

⛳Nearest-the-pin winners on Saturday were Nic Harding at Liquorland Masterton’s Hole 3, Chris Wendon at Straight Flush Plumbing’s Hole 6, Jocko Harp at Blackhawk Building’s Hole 8, and Pete Hawkins claimed both Guthrie Bowron Hole 17 and ITI Timspec Hole 18. The Makes Cents Accounting Hole 1 and Property Brokers Hole 10 remained unclaimed.

⛳A large field contested Sunday’s Medal round. In Group One, Damion Kauika produced the best score of the day with an excellent nett 66, finishing ahead of Ivan Karaitiana on 71, Darryl Coley on 73 and Jason Paku on 74.

⛳Group Two honours went to Brian Chappell with a nett 71. Kevin Gibbs secured second on countback from Maurice O’Reilly after both players carded 72, while Terry Fleet finished fourth on 73.

⛳Twos on Sunday were recorded by Damion Kauika and Chris Wendon.

⛳Tuesday’s Veterans Stableford round saw Kevin Gibbs return an impressive 43 points to take the win from Jason Walker on 39. Brian Chappell was next on 38 points followed by Trevor Dewis on 37 and Jason Paku on 34 points.

Club Communication & Complaint Process Update

To ensure fairness, consistency, and respectful engagement, the Committee has established the following process:

- All complaints, concerns, or issues must be submitted in writing to the Committee
- Requests must include placement on the Committee Meeting Agenda
- Agendas are generally finalised five (5) days prior to meetings
- Late submissions may not be tabled and may instead be referred to the relevant subcommittee
- Members may be given an opportunity to speak at a meeting if requested and deemed appropriate by the Committee
- The Committee will then move into a closed session to consider the matter
- A resolution or action plan will be determined following discussion

This process ensures all matters are handled fairly and with due consideration.

New Bylaw Notice

- A new bylaw has been developed outlining how disputes and complaints are managed
- This will be displayed in the club foyer for all members to review
- Members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this process
- Members are expected to raise concerns through the appropriate club channels rather than on public platforms, so matters can be managed professionally and respectfully within
the club

The Committee is focused on building a positive, respectful club culture. We encourage all
members to engage constructively and help move the club forward.
