🖤💙🖤Wellington Rugby League Masters 2025 Hosting💙🖤💙
Kiaora Whanau/Friends/Conmunity
On Saturday 26th July 2025, two amazing clubs Featherston Kuri and Randwick (King Fishers) combined this year to host the WRL Masters games.
Featherston certainly turned on the weather, bright blue skies and sun shining, the amount of support from all our communities was incredible. Thank you for coming along to support these rugby league athletes who love their league and continue to play as masters from 35 years of age onwards.
First and foremost we would like to thank Wayne and Mel Birch together with Kani for organising the main floor. Mel made sure the set up and Kai was sorted. Thank you so much for the mahi and taking on the leadership role on the day.
Huge shout out to our fabulous volunteers that cooked, shared in prepping of the Kai; Mel, Kani, Niki van Woerkom, Shirley Poutu, Wayne Birch, KJ and Roscoe (and team on hangi duties) and the beautiful ladies in the kitchen. Without you all we could not have hosted this event.
To the team, whanau and volunteers, thank you all for the pots and plates of food you provided it’s very much appreciated, as we say many hands make light mahi.
Biggest gratitude to our generous businesses who donated towards the hosting Featherston Baker, Jaykob Tinson (Dominoes Pizza’s) and to all our wonderful community who donated food to help support hosting these amazing teams. If we have left anyone out please know that you’re absolutely appreciated.
Blessings to our teams who travelled from Wellington, Kapiti, Lower Hutt, Porirua and Masterton to participate at these games. We hope you had a wonderful day, enjoyed the company, Kai and especially our hospitality. Hope you travelled safely home.
Special Mention to our Leah Hawkins and Nick from the band Noodle you made it a very fun night. Thank you both for entertaining our guests with your music, it was absolutely fantastic . The speeches from all our teams were a blast.
We love seeing the club rooms being utilised, full of fun, laughter and whanau/friends and our beautiful communities. See you all back in 2026.
Clean Up Crew: we were back at the hub to do a clean up at 11.30am on Sunday. Thank you Wayne, Mel, Kani, KJ, Allan, Marc and Trystan van de Loo. You are legends 🙏🏽💯⭐️
Much Aroha & Respect
