PLANNING IS UNDERWAY as the season is not far away, we are over joyed that Wairarapa Mitsubishi are coming back onboard as our major sponsor.

Few early updates that are new for us this year.....

NEW DATE: This year we will run slightly later - 28/29 November. The decision was made to try and space out shows as many of riders ride at CD and BOP that are also in October and when our friends from Dannevirke have stepped down we thought that date would work well for us, also maybe more settled weather as early spring in Masterton can be fun.

OPEN PONY CLASSES. More to come on this, but following the mighty Waikato introducing these classes, we will trial the uptake at our show this year.

Finally, as we are now starting to talk to our sponsors in the hope they all return again, we welcome any new sponsors to our show and please contact me if you would like more information

Better Late Than Never....

Firstly apologies for the time it has taken me to send this final wrap up post about our show!

Where to start.....it was pretty good wasnt it!!!

Wellington Champs is a big show like all the others, but we try to cater for all riders - so boy do we have a range and number of classes - with pony, youth classic, non graded, para and supporting bronze silver and gold for all eligible levels.

We cannot run ALL these classes without our sponsors and certainly the show cannot run without Wairarapa Mitsubishi coming back on board yet again as naming sponsor!!!

Shortly all riders will be emailed from Evo (so check your junk folders) all of our sponsors emails - PLEASE I know I am late...but as i say better late than never, please send them a quick email to thank them. You are welcome to attach any of the photos from Maccy Photography in this post in your email, also if you see a picture in the prize giving folder on her website and I havent attached it, please contact me you can have a copy for the purpose of sending it to a sponsor as Dressage Wellington have purchased this folder, please seek our permission first and do not post on your social media.

I am going to attempt to thank everyone and this is always risky that I will forget someone but here we go....

Jos Gresham our amazing Steward, the weather was good for riding, but it was challenging at times when you stand out there for 2 1/2 days - thank you Jos

The Committee - we are small but we are mighty, getting grants, Tracy running the office... Ian Childs....man he would have slept well on Sunday night!

The Wairarapa A&P crew - the grounds looked as always amazing and Philippa Croad messaging me at 2am asking if I would like the arenas harrowed in the morning - they were just on the clock 24/7 literally.

The riders - thank you for helping set up and take down arenas, supporting each other throughout the weekend, we saw some amazing sportsmanship.

The judges - that many classes and that many horses, made for long days, but thank you for bringing your expertise to our show and guiding everyone on their journeys with your knowledge.

Our scorers and runners - I have to say as a rider myself, I was barely back and untacked before that phone went beep! It really keeps the day running so smoothly when the people behind the scenes are beavering away so fast.

It was just another weekend of fun laughter and watching riders smash goals - big or small.

We hope everyone has a successful and enjoyable season out there and we will see you all again next year.
