Martinborough Skyline Challenge

Martinborough Skyline Challenge Sat. 11 April 2026. Tickets: skylinechallenge.co.nz from 23 January 2026 The Martinborough Skyline Challenge returns on Saturday 24 April 2021.

Family-friendly mountain-biking, running & scenic walking event on private farmland in Martinborough run by Martinborough Lions. 28/20/10/8 km courses & 3km kids circuit. Set on private farmland on the historic Huangarua, Puruatanga and Oystershell farms, this family-friendly event is designed to give riders of varying abilities a chance to experience mountain bike riding around the Martinborough

countryside. There are 5 course distances to choose from, with diverse terrain and varying levels of difficulty:

32km ride: This grade 3 ride is perfect for those looking for a mountain bike challenge.

16km ride or run: This demanding and quite hilly course is great for intermediate level riders or runners.

8km ride or run: This family-friendly course is ideal for getting out with the kids in the countryside, or as a personal challenge for a less experienced rider.

8km walk: This scenic walk is ideal for those wanting a more gentle way of enjoying the fabulous views.

3km ride, run, walk, stroll: This FREE family-friendly ride is ideal for families with kids 8 years and under over fairly flat terrain. Ideal for getting out with younger kids in the countryside. First event is at 9 am. This is a community fundraising event by the Martinborough Lions. This year all proceeds are going to the Wharekaka Aged Care Community. Registrations are open now. Spaces are limited, so register early to secure your spot.

Thanks to everyone who came along, took on the challenge and helped raise funds for South Wairarapa Meals on Wheels.

We will post updates on what we achieved in the next few days.

For now its time to hunker down and rest up for both the participants and the Skyline team!

Calling out for legends who love to volunteer, community ambassadors and all round good eggs to help out as Marshall's at the Skyline Challenge.

Its a fabulous opportunity to be part of an epic local event raiding funds for an incredible local enterprise (South Wairarapa meals on wheels)

Looking for people available 7.30sm to midday on Saturday 11th April.

You will be paired up with a Skyline pro to point people in the right direction and be on hand to help anyone in need. Each team is part of the comms network on the day.
