Auckland Transport is seeking to improve cycle connections in Māngere West (starting near Nga Hau Māngere Bridge). Sharing below, make sure to give feedback before December 4 if you can!
***
What are we proposing?

We want to make it easier and safer to travel by bike between the popular Ngā Hau Māngere Bridge, Māngere Town Centre and the Airport Oaks employment zone. To do this, we’re planning some on-street changes, including a new separated cycleway.

What are the benefits?

Easier and safer travel by bike between Māngere Bridge, Māngere Town Centre, Auckland Airport and more key locations. Dedicated room for people to bike and scooter leaves footpaths free for those who need them Travelling by bike is good for the environment, great for your wellbeing and easy on your wallet. More trips made by bike means less traffic congestion and more reliable travel times.

Kōrero mai tō whakaaro – share your thoughts. We have been working closely with local people to develop a design which will fill a vital gap in the local cycling network. We invite you to learn more about the proposal and have your say about these changes.

How can I give feedback?

We want to hear from you; please visit
haveyoursay.at.govt.nz and select 'Māngere West Cycling Improvements' to provide your feedback on the project.
Information about this proposal can be read in English, Samoan, Tongan or te reo Māori.

Remember to share your feedback with us by Monday 4th December!

📣 HAVE YOUR SAY 📣

Auckland Council and the Government are currently working together on a new integrated transport plan for Auckland 👇
_
This plan aims to future-proof Auckland with a high quality, connected transport system of cars, buses, trains, ferries, cyclists, pedestrians, freight and passenger rail and light rail. This includes immediate and pressing needs, as well as long-term city-shaping initiatives.
_
Because we want our diverse communities to be made aware and have an opportunity to have a say, we’re asking if you could HAVE YOUR SAY and then please share the link and information where possible. Attached is a summary of project and link below for more information 😎

💡 An important part of getting ready is knowing where to go if you need help.

🏃🎒 If you need to leave your home for your safety and you can’t go to friends or family, Civil Defence Centres and Shelters throughout the region will be open from tomorrow evening.

Shelters: provide a place to be safe while the worst of the weather passes. Blankets and hot drinks will be available, but shelters aren’t equipped for extended stays.

Civil Defence Centres (CDCs): are equipped to provide you with a safe place to eat, sleep and access essential support services.

📍 You can see a full list of centres on the Auckland Emergency Management website here: https://bit.ly/3luOTT0

We look forward to meeting you and working alongside you soon. Bike Auckland 😎
