Jorjah Hill wins her first 2K cup class race!
On International Women's Day Jorjah Hill took her first chequered flag, winning the race by 7 seconds in a field of 30 cars.
Jorjah has only been racing for a couple of years, having sacrificed working with race horses in order to do so.
She races in the class alongside her father, and is also a member of the 2K Cup committee. Jorjah drives a 1996 Toyota Celica.
After a tough season, the win was especially savoured by Jorjah, who states that her goal is to encourage other women to get out and give racing a go.

Wow it's been a busy few weeks! Lots of events, lots of amazing women competing, volunteering, organizing, service / put crewing, photographing and supporting!

JUST RELEASED: The 50th anniversary of the Central Machine Hire Otago Rally has drawn a staggering field, with 148 crews set to tackle the spectacular southern gravel roads from April 10-12.

I might be just 12 years old… female and sometimes barely able to see over the wheel… but I became one of the youngest competitors to take part in the 2026 NZ ClubSport Championship

I didn’t come to win or stand on the podium.
I came to learn.

To learn from the best drivers around me.
To find my confidence, my seat time, and to understand what I am capable of.

When I was out on the road and on the autocross course, I felt like the legends were beside me.
The spirit of Possum Bourne.
The courage of Craig Breen.
The belief that anything is possible if you keep pushing forward.

This was my first time reversing in competition.
My first time driving a sprint completely by myself.
My first time competing in a manual car.

At only 12 years old and as a female I knew this weekend was about gaining experience, building confidence, and finding my true seat time.

I know I still have so much to improve reversing, car control, experience but I was pushing myself to my limits this weekend and giving everything I had.

Thank you so much to the Ashburton Car Club Inc and everyone who supported me. It truly meant a lot. Uppercrust Bakery legends for lending me the gear and making this historic moment come true!

“I felt Possum and Breen beside me and I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.”

This is only the beginning… and I’m just getting started.

Yesterday the dust was flying in the North Waikato. Based out of Te Akau, the Vantage Possum Bourne Memorial Rally saw crews take on 133km of twisty gravel roads. It was fantastic to see so many women involved competing, servicing, photographing and volunteering. We would love to see some photos of these Women in Motorsport. We will start the tyres spinning with some of the pre-event announcement photos.

From competitors and engineers to officials, volunteers and leaders, women play a vital role in every corner of motorsport. Their passion, skill and commitment continue to strengthen our community and inspire the next generation to get involved.

As MotorSport New Zealand President Deborah Day says: “Today we celebrate all the women driving our sport forward.”
