Congratulations to Toby Mark who was the overall 🏆 , and to Anton Nadilo, the first Eastbourne local swimmer home for the 2026 1st March swim 🏊‍♂️.

The event began with a light northerly and a slack tide - favourable conditions for the 108 swimmers who took part.

The Wharf-to-Wharf Committee would like to sincerely thank our sponsors for their support: Best Couriers,
Sign Pro,
Pak’nSave,
David Reid Homes Ltd,
Jules Bailey–Rotman / Just Paterson Real Estate
Meg Cross / Professionals Real Estate.

We would also like to acknowledge the many volunteers who make this event possible each year. A special mention goes to Phil Benge, who generously photographs the event simply for the enjoyment of capturing the day. Thank you as well to the Red Cross team for providing the much-appreciated morning tea and keeping an eye on swimmers during recovery.

To our local kayaks and rescue boat support crews, you know who you are and to the volunteers at the registration desk, the finish line team, and those managing the results and data processing: we see you and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

Thank you again to everyone who helps make this community event keep happening each year.

Lawa have posted the results from the latest water sample taken at Days Bay on the 24th February. Water quality was good so no issues with safety for swimming The site shows a caution on water quality this morning due to rainfall. The rain isn’t meant to be heavy so we think this will clear by Sunday for the swim to go ahead https://www.lawa.org.nz/explore-data/wellington-region/coastal/days-bay-at-wharf
