Big win for the senior team today

NZ get it done at Holkar. Local lads Darryl M. and Zach F. make big contributions as the Blackcaps win the ODI series 2-1. Henry Nicholls doesn’t have a great day with the bat as he and fellow opener, Devon C. both are out early. Henry grabs a catch at the end of the Indian innings to end the tour on a high note to go alongside his 62 in the first ODI. .

Lewis M. is a DH local boy and who, with his brother Joe, came through the PHCC starting at S4. Lewis eventually played for the PHCC S1 first team and then moved to don the blue over the hill at Tai Tapu Tai Tapu, New Zealand

Lewis played great cricket in the tough S1A this year and got the nod to play in the black shirt and red cap for Country Canterbury Country Cricket Association at the festival at Mandeville. Brother Joe got in on the country call up. The third brother Sam, is currently in the PHCC S3 team. And the boys’ grandfather has done some time as keeping the DH in shape.

In an interview between driving the boys to cricket, their Mum (who is a fairly decent batter herself) said that all three brothers love their cricket, play hard and intend to be Blackcaps. With ’s Henry Nicholls representing, and the other Country lads in the Canterbury and NZ teams it’s a great and real ambition.

For his pathway Lewis is moving on to the great setup at Selwyn/Banks Peninsula Youth Cricket for youth cricket.
