*"TERM 3 TENNIS *

Term 3 is the best time to start getting prepared for the tennis season which will be starting up again by the end of term 3.

-Groups for Adults and children. We have groups for all abilities. We are also offering a beginner women's group this term. Private lessons can be arranged.

- Location: Prebbleton Tennis Courts(Domain)

-Starting date: Week starting 22nd July

It doesn't matter if you have never touched a tennis racket, or have been playing for years,we have options for all levels and ages in our programme. No need to be a member of a club to register.

At a beginner level we focus on;
-Hand/eye coordination
- All important motor skills
-Sportsmanship
-Team work
- Basic technical understanding /rules

For our more advanced groups we look to;
-Develop technical knowledge and understanding as much as possible.
- Encourage those skills to be practiced in match situations.
- Athletic movement/footwork specifically related to tennis.
-Tactical understanding and implementing that in game situations.

In all groups FUN is of course key! And so is the idea of relating skills learnt to any sport..rather than solely developing a tennis pro,we like encourage development as an athlete.

Hi Ladbrooks tennis players..Coach Kate Kate Williamson -Tennis Coach/Yoga Teacher RYT 200 here. Just wanted to let everyone know I am making an order for a few families tonight for new rackets. I can get anything off this website at 10-30% off . I have noticed quite a few children come to coaching with rackets that are far too big or that they have now really outgrown . Feel free to ask if you have any questions. 🙂🎾

We have a few spaces left in Wednesday afternoon sessions...

We're excited to have Kate Williamson, our local professional tennis coach and ex-student, back coaching at Ladbrooks School on Wednesday afternoons. Kate is assisted by Jamie Garbett, a NZ junior rep.

Kate runs the Hot Shots programme for younger children in a games-based environment, with the emphasis on building fundamental tennis motor skills.

The next level focuses on the technical aspects of the game in-depth, grips and serving, strategies and court positioning and further levels build on this.

Coaching will start the first Wednesday of term four. We will finalise times and cost based on numbers and we can provide rackets if needed.

There is also the opportunity for beginners to play mini tennis in Fridays in Lincoln or for anyone to play Saturday competition for Ladbrooks Tennis Club and Kate is also offering adult coaching.
