Choose one or two round of the same, or different heights.

We are so Proud of our Chair for being awarded the McCrostie Memorial award. This recognition is for the work done for Kihikihi Horse Trials.

But the reality for those who know Roger, is that he does so much more than chair Kihikihi. He’s is the first to arrive and the last to leave, he is the bringer of biscuits and milk for our meetings, he is the person on the tractor moving jumps for warm up. He is the person topping up toilet rolls. He is the person encouraging first time eventers before they head off on xc. He is the person discussing technical details with the TD.

He’s been involved across multiple disciplines of equestrian sport and for years, been a huge advocate and volunteer for pony club activities. Thank you Roger. We are incredibly grateful and proud of you.

The final award for the 25/26 season is for the "Volunteer of the Year" and the McCrostie Memorial Trophy recipient. This is voted on by the ESNZ Eventing Board from the pool of volunteers submitted by the Area Groups.

We are thrilled to advise that Roger Bevege of Eventing Waikato and Kihikihi Horse Trial is the 2026 McCrostie Memorial Trophy recipient.

Well done Roger & thank you for your hard work and dedication to our sport and all Equestrian Sports in NZ.

Our sport relies heavily on volunteers & the sport would not run without each and every one of you - THANK YOU.

My sincere thanks to the Kihikihi Eventing committee for the support for the North island Secondary Schools 2DE held in Taupō last weekend.

Thanks also to the eventing board stepping in to add this fine OC the support needed to ensure this event could run.

With Hamish Butler Gallie leading as TD, Jenny Draper as chief dressage judge and chief XC judge, Rowan Armer as xc designer and his team working together for the development of our sport.

To the OC running this event over 46 years, it’s a credit to you all. Thank you so much. Roger Bevege

Officiating is a great way to be involved in our sport from grassroots through to international events.

Kihikihi Horse Trial committee have been working behind the scene to find a way to ensure Secondary Schools Equestrian Horse Trials can go ahead. Participation for schools riders is so important for the continued growth of eventing in NZ and we need more opportunities for youth to enjoy the amazing sport of eventing. 🙌
