UPDATED 945PM Friday 22 May - PLEASE CHECK IF ANY CHANGES have been made to any of game

How is it that this Sunday will be our LAST day of Rugby League for our tamariki? How is it that we have already completed 10 weeks of the season?

With that being said, we would like to thank all our whānau for being absolutely AMAZING — from getting our tamariki to trainings each week, to the huge amount of travelling you have done to get them to their games, especially with the rising cost of fuel and most importantly thank yous for being AMAZING sideline supporters to our tamariki at each game which allowed our tamariki to enjoy their game each week

To our tamariki, it has been an amazing journey watching you all grow and develop in the game we all love. We thank you all for choosing to play Rugby League for our club.

Now let’s enjoy our final game together this Sunday at the home grounds of our Te Paamu Tigers whānau in Paengaroa. 🏉

Tēnā koutou

I warmly invite our valued partners to participate in He Tohu Te Mauri – Trauma-Informed Care Wānanga in Kawerau.

This training is an important opportunity to deepen our collective trauma-informed practice and strengthen the ecosystem of care across our Tūwharetoa rohe, including the important connections and partnerships we hold throughout the broader rohe of Te Arawa and Mataatua.

Event details
He Tohu Te Mauri – Trauma-Informed Care – Kawerau
Date: Thursday 4 June – Friday 5 June 2026
Time: 10:00am – 5:00pm
Location: Kawerau, venue to be confirmed
Facilitators: Dr Andre McLachlan and Dr Tahlia Kingi

The wānanga will explore trauma-informed care through a kaupapa Māori lens, including intergenerational trauma, Te Tiriti-informed trauma analysis, the extended Mauri Ora Tai Pari model, and the TOHU framework.

For those of us working alongside whānau, hapori and services across health, social care, justice, education, housing and wellbeing, this is a valuable opportunity to build shared understanding, shared language and shared practice.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships, capability and collective impact for whānau across Kawerau and our wider rohe.

Yesterday we hosted our last Coastline District Rugby League Mini Mod Carnival day for 2026 & we got to host it on a SPECIAL DAY celebrating Mothers Day with all our Māmā and our pāpā who also take on that māmā role too. Hope you all enjoyed day yesterday.

A big mihi to all our whānau who helped with setting up and packing down the fields, those who cooked, ran the shop, and contributed kai koha to our club shop today. All funds raised will go towards our breakup expenses.

To our backbone team who continue to do the unseen mahi that keeps us moving forward — we truly appreciate you.

To our Coaches, Managers, and our whānau who step in whenever needed, we are forever grateful. Thank you all for your contribution towards keeping Rugby League alive in our town.

To our tamariki — seeing you all enjoy playing Rugby League every Sunday makes all our mahi worthwhile

Once again we take this time to also acknowledge our PLAYERS OF THE DAY
