As the owner of UNIQE GYMZ I am very Proud to have competed at my third powerlifting competition on Saturday in Rotorua.
I love it, I know I am strong and built for it! This competition was a defining moment in many ways, in strength, mindset and confidence. Age shouldn't be a barrier, its just a number.
I entered in the Masters 3 class (over 60's) 84k+
Bench only! I won my class.
1st attempt 80kgs ✅️, 2nd 83kgs ✅️ 3rd attempt 85.5kgs ✅️. Successfully competed 3/3 PB 3kgs, WBOP record.
On to the Nationals in Wellington in October...woop woop! Anyone have an Airbnb I can rent out 27th to 30th.
A huge shout out to my Coach Mike Jones from Ruthless Barbell Club. This is our second competition together. He does all my programming and analyses my trainings. He has the experience and technical knowledge. I believe if you want to go far in a sport you need a Coach.
Secondly, mihi atu ki āku whanau, Julie Kingi Calvin Kingi Paretoroa Keepa Melissa Toko Aaliyah Wirangi-Rentoul Ngakohu Toko, Candice Gates me nga hoa, Hiraina Takurua Grant raua ko Tania Ferrier, for your tautoko and coming to watch me. To see all your faces and getting hugs before doing the do, lifted my heart. Hearing your cheers was overwhelming, and having all my mokopuna there was awesome, ngā mihi ki a koutou katoa ❤️.
Also a huge aroha to my love Nathan Andrew , even though you couldnt be there, your messages of kaha were felt. To my niece Sela Kingi for all your love, support for me and now the sport we both love, and the goodie parcel you left me, by kare, was yum 😋. Thank you babe❤️.
Lastly, a huge thank you to our Uniqe fams and my whanau and friends for all your well wishes and love and support which I carried with me on the platform.
Never too old to do something you thought was out of reach!
I have uploaded my last lift!
Love you all❤️
