Boy had a great day on Sunday! Interesting day too at that 😁

Was a bit late to rise as it's getting colder now..Hubby came in at 6am from nightshift! Let's go hun..not yet I reckon..bit longer please. Rocks in at 7. Come on love the pigs will be moving now! Yeah alright let's go!
Down to TnC for breakfast b4 we head off....

Dogs are working so well today especially after hunting all day Saturday. They look different when they're scenting pig; and there's no Wallabies up here! I'm getting excited!

Just b4 10am I see familiar road name...I say to hubby, I got good feeling about this Rd.. 50m later .. Boom!! Kuri run up the road..bang straight in..straight line..bark at 300m...bark bailing squeling at 500m!
Epic 1st pig 10am and he was a beauty!
Tama and whero taking turns bailing and holding Zues mostly holding! They did us priud today and worked hard together!

We broke the truck and lost the dogs heading home..rang our brothers to help us!
Fixed the truck found the dogs and scored 2more poaka!

The dry spell was over!!

Family effort this morning! And the perfect timing...just pulled up as Nano had shot at his stag that Moss dogs had chased out to them..Moss n Nano in the bush looking for it, tracking blood n bone fragments 😜 couldn't find it..Himi n I shot around the road opposite see if it was easier to carry it out, then we spotted more blood across the road. Sieged Zues and Tama onto the scent about 4mins later chased 500ms then back down the hill boosting to the road...cut it off 80m away from us...full on rumbling with the stag. I waited on the road and sent Himi in sounded like our dogs where getting a hiding...but they where machines. Himi couldn't shoot it, dogs too close on its head. So he had to jump in grab the antlers and stick it! But we got it whanau 🤙🏼

Processing the brothers Stag from the weekend into mince 🤙🏽roughly 30mins...ran through twice...didn't even need to add Hinu. Stag was so fat!!

Weekend don't get much better then this...away with the whanau hunting on your whenua with the most beautiful hosts. Thanks so much for hosting us and the laughs Don Macgregor and Beth Macgregor Brothers Morris Gates hunting in Turangi always comes home with a kill 💯%while we admire the scenery and get sh*tty catching nothing 🤦😭😂😂😂
And of course couldn't have done it without our mama having the other half of our tribes. Hazel Gates your the real MVP even came home to a home cooked roast which I couldn't eat cause I was ill from being so exhausted 🤣😂😂🤦
