Layla had a solid performance at the 2026 National Age Groups Championships in Hawke's Bay this week.

While there were no new pbs in the 100m & 200m Breaststroke, she was right on her long course best times - showing great consistency and composure at a big meet.

A big highlight was her 200 IM, where Layla achieved a new long course pb and an impressive 8th place🌟🙌

Super proud of Layla's effort, resilience and attitude across the meet. The progress is building - exciting things ahead!

* Beginners

**Week 1:**

* No swimming for Bronze, Silver, and Gold squads

**Week 2:**

* Combined Bronze, Silver & Gold squads
* Monday – Friday
* 5:30pm – 7:00pm

A big congratulations to Layla Bell for her exceptional performance at the recent National Division II Swimming Competition in Dunedin.

Layla delivered an outstanding results, PB in all her seven events, claiming gold in 200 Breast🥇 and 200 Free🥇 as well as bronze in the 100 Individual Medley🥉.

Well done Layla - we are incredibly proud of your achievement! 🙌❤️

🏊‍♂️ **Club Night is Back for 2026!** 🏊‍♀️

Give racing a go! Club Nights are fun and a great way to experience racing without the pressure of big swim meets. Challenge yourself, try your best, and enjoy the atmosphere with your teammates.

Points collected from Club Nights go toward our **yearly prizegiving**, so every race counts!

All squad members — **Development, Bronze, Silver, and Gold** — should attend. It’s a great way to see how you are progressing in training and build confidence in racing. **Kim’s Beginners Squad are also very welcome**, with **25m events available for our newest swimmers**.

Club Nights are also a great opportunity to interact with other swim families, build our club community, and get involved. Parents can help out with roles like **timekeeping**, which helps the night run smoothly and supports our swimmers.

And to finish the night, we’ll have a **sausage sizzle** 🌭 — a great chance to relax and catch up with everyone.

Let’s make 2026 a great season in the pool! 💪🌊

It’s been a fantastic weekend of swimming at the ASA Age Group and Open Championships in Auckland, with Hayden Buckingham and Layla Bell doing us incredibly proud in the pool

Both swimmers have delivered outstanding performances, collecting multiple PBs across their events and showing the results of their hard work and dedication in training. It’s always exciting to see swimmers step up at a big meet, and this weekend was no exception.

A special mention to Layla, who powered her way into some epic finals and raced with real determination against some very strong competition.

Congratulations Hayden and Layla — an awesome weekend of swimming and a performance to be proud of. Your commitment and effort are really showing. Well done! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️👏

Massive congratulations to some of our amazing swim club parents for their performances this past weekend!!!

Well done to Katja, Shelly, and Mark who all competed in the Banana Boat Series in Rotorua. They had a fantastic weekend swimming in the fresh water — a nice change from Paihia Beach! All three swimmers were really happy with their performances, and we’re so proud of the effort they put in.

And a big congratulations goes to Tasmin Horne for her incredible achievement at this weekend’s Ironman in Taupo where she took 1st place in her age group! 🏆

It’s awesome to see our swim club parents getting out there and showing the kids that you can achieve amazing things at any age. You’re setting such a powerful example for our young swimmers.

Well done everyone — we love seeing our swim whānau doing big things!

Rounding off what has been an epic month of swimming, our young team travelled to Auckland to compete in the Harlequins 2026 NZ Swimming Junior Festival 🏊‍♂️

The kids swam incredibly well all weekend and there were some epic PBs achieved! Huge effort, great racing, and awesome team spirit from everyone involved.

Well done to all of you — we’re super proud of the way you represented the team and supported each other.

Harlequins is the highlight of the year for many young swimmers under 12, and it was fantastic to see our athletes embracing the experience and rising to the challenge.

Let’s see if we can take an even bigger team next year!
