2026 SNZ Secondary School Championships

Congratulations to Layla on her great effort at the New Zealand Secondary School Championships, proudly representing Kerikeri High School.

Layla has shown outstanding commitment over the past three months, consistently working hard in training as she prepared for this meet. Unfortunately, she came down with a cold on race day, making the challenge even greater.

Despite being unwell, Layla displayed great determination and resilience, achieving 4 new PBs across her events. The highlight of the meet was placing 9th overall in the 16-Year-Old Girls' 200m Individual Medley, finishing among the Top 10 in New Zealand for her age group.

We are incredibly proud of Layla's dedication, perseverance, and positive attitude throughout the season. Performances like these are a reflection of the hard work that happens long before race day, and we look forward to seeing her continue to build on this success.

Congratulations, Layla, and well done on representing both Kerikeri High School and Bay of Islands Swimming Club with pride! 💙💛

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported our Winter Carnival last weekend!

The meet was a fantastic success, with some amazing swimming on display throughout the day. It was wonderful to see swimmers achieving great results, racing hard, and enjoying the competition.

Thank you to all the clubs who travelled to join us and help make the event such a great day. We would also like to thank our incredible club members, families, volunteers, officials, and supporters who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

A special thank you goes to our generous sponsors for their support. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful community backing the Bay of Islands Swimming Club. Your support helps make events like this possible.

We are so proud of what we achieved together and look forward to seeing everyone again next time!!

Entries are now OPEN on Fastlane for our Winter Carnival!
Please get your entries in as soon as possible so we can get an idea of numbers attending and begin preparing for the big day.
Our carnival is always such a fun event, and we would love to see as many of our members there as possible!
It takes a team effort to make the day a success, so we’ll also need all hands-on deck helping out where we can.
Get those entries in now — we can’t wait to see everyone there!
Don't forget to purchase some team kit to wear on the day.

Our Swim Carnival is coming up fast, and we need your help to make it bigger and better than ever!
We’re currently on the hunt for spot prizes to include in our event. as well as lane or event sponsors. If you know of a business that would be willing to support us with a donation or a prize, we would love to hear from you.
Entries will be opening soon on Fastlane, so keep an eye out!
We’ll also need all hands on deck on the day. We’re looking for volunteers to help with: BBQ, Raffle sales, Timekeeping, Marshalls and of course, we’ll be running another epic bake sale! Please let us know what delicious goodies you can bring along.
Let’s make this year’s Swim Carnival the biggest and best one yet!

Layla had a solid performance at the 2026 National Age Groups Championships in Hawke's Bay this week.

While there were no new pbs in the 100m & 200m Breaststroke, she was right on her long course best times - showing great consistency and composure at a big meet.

A big highlight was her 200 IM, where Layla achieved a new long course pb and an impressive 8th place🌟🙌

Super proud of Layla's effort, resilience and attitude across the meet. The progress is building - exciting things ahead!

A big congratulations to Layla Bell for her exceptional performance at the recent National Division II Swimming Competition in Dunedin.

Layla delivered an outstanding results, PB in all her seven events, claiming gold in 200 Breast🥇 and 200 Free🥇 as well as bronze in the 100 Individual Medley🥉.

Well done Layla - we are incredibly proud of your achievement! 🙌❤️
