Trial for the 1st XI Boys Football Winter Tournament Team, specifically for students who wish to be considered for selection for the Winter Tournament 31st August- 4th September in New Plymouth.

NZBHS JUNIOR BOWHUNTER OF THE YEAR

A massive congratulations to Charlie, who was named the Junior Bowhunter of the Year 2026 at the recent NZ Bowhunters Society prize giving.

Showing he can compete with the best, Charlie also took out 2nd place in the adults' longbow division for Target Shooting.
What an achievement!

THAMES VALLEY CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Katikati College had 8 students compete at the Thames Valley Cross Country Championships.

The course was an authentic cross-country track, featuring cow pats, steep hills, and water crossings.

Placings from our students:
Georgia placing 2nd in the Senior Girls
Lexie placing 3rd in the Junior Girls
Mike placing 3rd in the Senior Boys

UNSTOPPABLE FOOTBALL DUO

Ella and Ivy Cousins competed in the annual Papamoa FC Football Tournament on Saturday, taking on teams from across the North Island.

Playing for Tauranga Moana, the girls helped their team secure an impressive 2nd place in the Under 13 Girls competition.

After finishing top of their pool, Tauranga Moana earned a place in the Cup playoffs.
They won their semi-final 1–0 before facing last year's AIMS Games Girls Football champions, Havelock North, in the final.

The final ended in a 1–1 draw, with Tauranga Moana narrowly losing on penalties to finish as runners-up.

The team had an outstanding tournament, scoring 20 goals and conceding just 3. Ivy contributed 6 goals, while Ella added 4 goals to the tally.

A fantastic achievement by both girls and their team.

We’re back for 2026! 👟💚

After such an awesome response over the past two years, we’re excited to bring the Katikati HUME 5KM & 10KM Fun Run/Walk back again this year.

What started as a one-off event for Hume’s 40th celebrations has quickly become something our community has really got behind — and we love seeing people of all ages and abilities out enjoying the morning together.

Whether you’re running the 10KM, walking the 5KM, bringing the kids, or just coming along for the atmosphere, the day is all about getting active, connecting with others, and making the most of our beautiful Katikati walkways.

Registrations are now open via our website, and make sure you follow our event page Hume Pack-N-Cool Fun Run & Walk 2026 to keep up with updates, sponsors, spot prizes and event announcements.

As part of the event, we’ll also be collecting koha and food donations for the Katikati Food Bank, so if you’re able to, please bring along a little something to help support local families in need.
