Karori Golf Club

Karori Golf Club The first golf club in the world to have Kiwi released on the course. The course rewards accuracy and boasts several holes that are quite special in character.

Set in the scenic Makara hills just 15 minutes from the coolest little capital in the world. A challenging and beautiful course and a sanctuary to some of New Zealand's rarest wildlife Golf in a Country Setting Close to the City

Karori Golf Club is located close to the city but in an idyllic country setting. All holes are tree-lined and two stony streams meander across or beside all but four hole

s. Native bush on the neighbouring hills and much of the course boundary gives Karori a location that is typically rural New Zealand. There are no crowds, no traffic and the only reminder of technology is the presence of giant wind turbines that populate the seaward side of the hills to the west. If you have not played Karori recently you will be impressed by the challenge that awaits you. Different and Distinctive Course

Karori is quite different from all other courses in the Wellington region. The remaining holes reward risk-takers or may require a long accurate drive. Several holes play to elevated greens – making otherwise straightforward approaches significantly more challenging. The greens are consistent and comparatively quick. They can appear reasonably flat, but beware, the borrow can be underestimated. Expect challenging pin placements that can result in some tricky downhill putts

April went by in a flash! - snorkelling the Barrier Reef, returning to our horrible weather and catching up on the main business work I had pushed to one side over summer.

I'm back coaching from this Friday - times over the coming months are limited as this is a part-time role that fits around family, my main business and the reduced daylight hours so get in touch if you need some help

Look forward to seeing you soon

It would appear the recent drainage work has worked wonders. The course is in great condition given all the rain we have had over the last few days. A round of applause for the green staff who have been working hard to create a great golf course.

Good afternoon everyone,

Due to the significant amount of rain we’ve had and more forecast overnight and into tomorrow, there is an increased risk of surface flooding, slips, and rapidly rising creeks on the way to the course.

For safety reasons, the course will be closed tomorrow (20 Apr) and Wednesday (21 Apr). We will continue to monitor conditions and provide an update as things improve.

Please check the course status on our website for the latest information (www.karorigolf.co.nz)

Thanks for your understanding.
