Push ups challenge 💪

Ain’t nothing more humbling than trying to do a full push up of your body weight.

According to a recent article published by Women’s Health, April 2025, we should be able to do it on our toes!

According to the Freddie Chatt and Adam Clark chart, the average women below 50 should be able to achieve at least 11 - 24 consecutive push ups.

This is a brilliant way of strengthening your chest, shoulders, back and core, all with just the use of your body weight.

If this is something you wish to achieve, join me on a 30 day challenge.

30 push ups daily for 30 days.
This can be broken up throughout the day.

-Fun facts about the women’s body -
Genetics play a 30 - 80% role in your body fat percentage.
Body fat average for women typically sits between 21 - 31 % for reproduction. Men sit lower at 14 - 24%.
Women are prone to have higher water retention during luteal phase (after ovulation) due to hormonal fluctuation changes.
At the age of 30 both men and women begin to lose muscle mass, 3 - 5% every decade. (Without resistancece training)

- The benefits of resistance training on body composition.
Muscle burns more energy (calories consumed) in a sedentary state than fat.
Higher muscle mass helps with insulin sensitivity (hormone that helps convert food into energy) and control on blood glucose levels.
Resistance training is important for increasing bone density, reducing the risk of fractures.
Helps control blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Train for fun.
Train for health.
Train for quality of life.

Laaaaaats Gooooo!

The perks of having an exercise buddy or community….
Accountability.
Having like minded people ensuring you show up to work towards your goals.
Motivation.
Surrounding yourself with a variety of people of differnet fitness strengths is a great way to further challenge yourself.
Social.
Making friendships as an adult SUCKS. Having a laugh outside of work or family life is such a crucial part of mental health as a whole.


I have stepped back from CrossFit in my own training program but was fortunate enough to compete over the weekend as a team.

Clayton and I were perfect partners. His gentler encouragement and my very vocal approach 😂😂

Getting comfortable with being UNCOMFORTABLE.

It’s the ole saying, no progress is made by sitting inside your comfort zone.

Some things I have found to be crucial in pushing myself:
Finding a supportive community reaching for similar goals.
Having an accountability buddy, speak those goals out loud!
Having smaller ticks of achievement along the way and assess progress.
Doing movements that you genuinely enjoy.
Finding a routine in which you are able to stick to and create sustainable habits.
Getting help where it’s needed. A coach/nutritionist/online resources to guide you with things that may seem overwhelming.
