It is with great sadness that the Crescent Rugby Club acknowledges the passing of Life Member Graham Hale, who passed away on 29th September 2026.

Graham was a hugely respected member of Crescent and gave many years of service to rugby, both within our club and throughout the wider South Otago community.

A devoted husband to Joan and father to their five sons, Graham's contribution to the Crescent rugby club extended well beyond the sideline.

As coach of the Crescent Premier side, Graham guided the team to two banners in 1977 and 1978. His involvement in rugby continued through the Sub-Union, and he went on to coach both South Otago and Otago Country teams.

Graham was a driving force behind Crescent Rugby Club and played an important part in shaping the club we know today. His contribution, commitment and passion for the crescent rugby club will not be forgotten.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Joan, their five sons, and the wider Hale family at this sad time.

Thank you, Graham, for everything you gave to Crescent Rugby.
