We held our AGM and Prizegiving a few weeks ago.
A good attendance, although very disappointing the lack of Social members who have full voting rights.
The highlight of the day was a special presentation to our life members. Marge Milich and Russell G Hockley . Russell was unable to be with us as he was recovering from an operation. His daughter Karen Subritzky accepted on his behalf.
Congratulations to all our prize winners.
Thankyou to everyone that put your names forward, or were coerced to fill a position. We so appreciate and thank all of you.
Looking forward to next season, it can only get better.
We had a lovely lunch and a few drinks to end the day.

We are on the search for a volunteer trainee green keeper. If you are interested in learning how to look after our green, please contact the President. 021737730
Sadly, if we cant find anyone, we have made the decision to start fundraising for an artificial green.
This would be a real shame, as our current Green keeper has the best natural grass green in the Far North. He has won many Green keeper of the year awards and desperately needs to share all his knowledge so that we can keep the green in its current form.

What a magic day. Houhora Bowls and Sports Club first domestic tournament, what a great time we all had.

Drawn pairs. 1 bowler and 1 twilight/ new bowler . 12 teams, 3 games of 8 ends, with a yummy byo pot luck lunch.

The weather behaved, lots of laughs. Some great bowls played, and best of all. Bowls was the winner of the day.

Our sponsor, Pukenui Excavators donated all the prizes, plus 3 raffles. Cheers Robin and Gillian, we couldn't do this without our sponsors generosity.
Everyone won a prize. But the top 7 teams were in the money. The rest won yummy Easter eggs.

A big thanks to Joe for getting the green ready this morning, he had a bit of moisture to remove along with a million worms. A never ending problem. A big thanks to the worm helpers this morning.

And we couldn't have had the best day with out the best club members doing what they do best.

Thanks everyone, let's do it all again next season

This is our J1-5 singles champions. A huge congrats to Geor Gie and Gillian Harper making the final with Georgie coming out the eventual winner in the Ladies and Darren Axe and Tank who played the men's final with Darren winning.
A huge congrats to you all. And we wish both Georgie and Darren all the best when they represent Houhora Bowls and Sports Club in the Champ of champ J1-5 singles. Also Tank will represent Houhora in the 1st year singles to be held next month.
