A great day down in Kaiapoi for the local tournament. 16 players and a few supporters all returned home without broken bones or broken pride. We'll see you again next year Kaiapoi Kavaliers - Golden Oldies Rugby

1pm, this Sunday, 25th September at Takahanga Domain, Kaikoura, Test Match Rugby (well, not quite but it sounds good)

Kaikoura's Crippled Cray's face off against the Amuri Rams Rugby. If you want to pull on your boots, meet at the domain at 12pm for the 1pm kick off.

As this is our last game for the season, everyone is encouraged to come down and watch this spectacular game of rugby.

Spectators are asked to wait until after the game to collect autographs though.

And this is why we train... Training tomorrow night at 6pm at Takahanga. Let's hope the weather plays it's part. Would be great to get a few there as will be sorting out food for the Amuri game on the 25th. Pretty keen to go the seafood route with maybe some wild game.....to be discussed tomorrow. See you there. If you are thinking about coming down, please do. It is actually a lot easier than it sounds.

Sunday 25th September is our last game of the year. Amuri Rams are heading our way and we are all set for a big weekend. As you can see by the photo, we always have an eye on the ball.

Last weekend we travelled to Kaiapoi to take part in their tournament. Six teams, 5 games in succession (ok, they were shorter than normal). A fantastic day was had

We tried... But we have been tackled out of this weekend's game here in Kaikoura. The game has been cancelled. Training on Tuesday is also on hold.

The game of three halves was played between the hosts, Cheviot, the Amuri Rams, and the Kaikoura Crippled Cray's. In perfect rugby weather, the Cray's showed they could handle the large squads of Cheviot and Amuri. With our 12 or so players and a few ring ins, we scored tries, defended astutely and held our own. Bring on the next challenge.

Squawk, squawk, squawk!
Hear the cry of the Magpie this weekend as we head to a glorious looking Cheviot for club day!!

The Black and White will be onnnnnnn as the swine from over the hill make the trip to Magpie stadium!

The Hurunui Hogs will be calling for blood against our 1s and 2s while the Colts take on Ashley, but the boys are fizzing to show those daring to venture here, just what's up!

The future of the club will be out in force as well, with all JAB playing on that hallowed turf.

Not only that, but the stampede of rhinos will be ringing out on Sunday as the Golden Oldies make their return for 2022! The Rhinos are taking on the Kaikoura Crays and the Amuri Rams in a mini tournament. With a bar on the sideline you can beat the beers will be frickin ice cold!

The BBQ will be sizzling all weekend and refreshments will be on tap, so it really is the place to be!

Cheviot's about to show the NC how to play. Weekends like this are what we live for!
