This weekend The Invercargill Rifle Club are hosting there invitational club shoot.
The competition will be a last man standing event. You will be paired against another shooter, and you will compete at 200 yards, centre fire rifle, with shooting from prone, kneeling and standing, as fast as possible to hit the two steel targets - 1 large and 1 small.
6 rounds minimum. So, the first one to hit the two gongs in the 3 shooting positions wins (there is two range set ups) you use as many rounds as you need to complete the target hits.
So depending on how many turn up will govern how many rounds you need however I suggest a minimum of 50 to be safe.
The steels are generously sized so don't panic to much.
$20 cash only at the range.
You will be required to do a 100m sighting test to get your rifle approved prior to the comp. ie hit the 1 inch dot from prone. This is part of their range rules before you are allowed to compete, so this is when you sight in if you need to. (bring extra rounds)
Bring a tarp/plastic drop sheet and a blanket to lie on, gumboots as its very wet in the surrounding paddocks. Some snacks to munch on.
There will be opportunity for steel gongs after the comp and some other bits - yet to be determined
Invercargill Rifle Club calendar great to see the 5& 600yrd is certified get along and have a go lots of experienced people there that'll be more than happy to help you if you've never shot at that range.
Cheers all
