Congratulations Liam O’Rourke with a good second in Tour of Canterbury over the holiday weekend.

A great ride, only to lose the overall lead in the final stage of the B Grade after a series of attacks on his lead. To finish second overall is a good effort mate, well done!

Today I was contacted by Martin Sycamore to inform me that his father Roy Sycamore a long time official and supporter of Cycling in Southland for many years passed away this morning in Brisbane. Martin contacted me so I can share this sad news to those who knew Roy and his family. My thoughts and condolences got out to the Sycamore family at this time.

Morning all

I thought I'd take the time now that we're getting into those darker & colder mornings to remind everyone the importance of bike lights. With the cost of fuel rising due to conflict in the Middle East, more and more people are dusting off their bikes to cycle to work.

I passed three people cycling on my way to work this morning, all three without bike lights, and with how dark it is getting, it was nearly impossible to see all three of them at just shy of 7am.

Take 5 minutes, buy a bike light and be safe and seen out there. It really is that important💡Don't be the person a motorist writes a status about.
