Our U14 boys are off to a great start at their preseason tournament in Oamaru!

In their first games, the Southland A's defeated Central Lakes Basketball Club 58-25, while the Southland B's claimed a 38-34 victory over Otago Metro.

The B's capped off an undefeated day with a convincing 62-22 win over Otago Lakes, while the A's came up short against Otago A's 32-54.

Keep up the good work, boys!

With Miniball kicking off at ILT Stadium next week we hope your tamariki are fizzing to play!

SBA will also have a new batch of junior referees (who will be wearing yellow whistles during Miniball) kicking off their officiating careers and learning on the job. Respecting our referees is extremely important, and our association has a zero-tolerance policy for referee abuse in any form.

Remember: without our officials, there is no game. Happy Miniball season! 🏀

We want to sincerely thank all of our U14 families, players, coaches, and managers for your dedication and hard work so far. We're excited to see how our teams continue to grow as they prepare to compete in the U14 Regional tournament, held in Dunedin exactly one month from today.

Well down to Parks Laverty (Yr11) who went to the South Island Year 9/10 tournament to referee. After some awesome performances and control on court he was selected to ref the South Island girls A grade final. So proud of his efforts.

SBA recently concluded our Secondary Schools league with an exciting night of finals!

Congratulations to all teams and a massive thank you to the coaches, administrators, officials, volunteers, parents and players who make this happen year after year. Best of luck to our Year 13s on their next chapters, and we hope to see the rest of you back next year.
