Front end tidy up, and a few upgrades while we are here, brakes have always been due a improvement so new lines and routing will tidy things up to avoid damage

7th off the line, making the long haul up from Southland, it’s V6 Lux Racing – Jamie Winsloe and Scott Paterson. These boys are committed – no strangers to the Mud & Steel playground, they know the property well and they’re ready to throw down in Clubman class.

Their ride? A proper road-legal beast of a Hilux:
🔹 V6 Commodore engine – because more cubes, more fun!
🔹 Runva EWB9500-Q winch – ready to catapult them up any hill
🔹 5.29 chromoly gears in tightly shimmed LSDs – tough as nails
🔹 35” Twin Block Simex tyres – aggressive, grippy, and ready for the mud

This isn’t just a truck – it’s a purpose-built weapon ready to attack the course. With a rig like that and experience on their side, Jamie and Scott are a team to watch out for in the Clubman field!

Fizzing for the next methvan mud and steel event!! We have decided to load the hilux up and travel the 7hrs one way to have a crack at the mud and steel event and try to take out a trophy in the NZ1 enduro.

There are going to have to be some changes to the hilux's layout to accommodate 2 days/night of winch stages then go into a 2hr enduro so keep a eye out on this.

With a shake down trip to the west coast coming up to clear the cobwebs let's go!

What a absolute blast we had today at the 4x4 Events enduro.
We worked late getting the radiator and electrical work sorted and turned up in methvan at 3 30am to compete in the morning.
More photos to come but we managed to destroyed a shock & lost a brake line,
Patched and dispatched the hilux over the 1 hour repair period.
Fuel issues ment we only had the 1st half of the loud pedal to use but we made do!
Minimal winching, few trees to bounce the barwork off no panel damage noted.
What a awesome day want to start by thanking All Tyres Invercargill for the outstanding traction the beadlocks provided combating the fuel issues kept us competitive.
Transcare 2021 Ltd the engine started letting us down but that transmission picked up all the slack keeping us in the rpms.
Bazco Ltd that powersteering setup kept the doors off the trees! In fact got revenge on the trees that got your sticker! Gave them a good nudge!

Scott had the hard yards today, running between check points, setting the anchor and getting yelled at....
Absolute legend!

The girls back at home holding the fort down while we are on tour need a mention as well packing bags while we were still working on the truck!

Picked up a couple of prizes which was great but amped as ever to get back for another run!
Highly recommend any events held in methvan what a crew!

Quick overnighter for a shake down trip to find any loose ends before heading to methvan for the enduro mid March.

Drove from Invercargill to Piano Flat ✅️
Drove the Old Man Range and coal pit road ✅️
Drove home again from Roxborough ✅️

Issues that arose from the above...

Still running into cooling issues on long big climbs ❌️
Excessive rear diff movement ( rear custom arms GQ bushes need redone) ❌️
Rear diff, diff head noise...(remove and investigate)❌️
High output alternator now a no output alternator.. ❌️

So I guess that's a successful shakedown?
Found issues to resolve... and resolved repaired issues
Full charge in both batteries the new solenoids on the winch appear to have both motors working at full power, having rewired the winch with heavier wiring as well so that's a win.
New steering box and knuckles and arms working well
New rear driveshaft going well
New front shocks with mounts not limiting any travel and smoother ride.

A sad spline and damage on the rear driveshaft.

So tonight's job was a new spline and universal and a quick balance tonight to cut some vibrations down.

Entries are coming in fast for the give it a go enduro.19 so far, I know there is still a lot of you out there that haven't got your entries in yet. So get them for a fun day of racing.
