Hi all,

Unfortunately due to the weather, we have made the call to cancel tennis lessons this afternoon. There looks to be another very big rain shower about to hit us and it just makes the courts quite water logged. Let all look forward to a dry sunny start next week.

-- Junior Tuesday Coaching - Starts Tuesday 14 October and runs until Tuesday 2 December (and then again in Term 1) --

A big thank you to all those who replied to the feedback email.
We have had a great positive feedback response which has allowed us to offer coaching on Tuesdays.

In other positive news we are having our main 3 courts cleaned, so we will be all ready for the new season. Special thanks to the Hunua Hall committee for helping to organise and fund the cleaning!

For returning juniors you are more than welcome just to reply to the email we sent out. We will give you till October 6 to let us know. We will then advise you of the coaching groups the week of the October 6 when everyone is back to school.

The following is an estimate of what the session groups will be like. This will be conditional based on skill, grouping or separating siblings and other factors.

3.30pm to 4.15pm - 5-7yrs
4.15pm to 5.00pm - 7-9yrs
5.00pm to 6.00pm - 9-14yrs
6.00pm to 7.00pm - 10+ yrs (children that are interclub ready or looking to be interclub ready)

-- Senior Tuesday Coaching (this may be a better session for some of the older juniors as well) --

Your fees will include a Senior coaching session from 7-8pm Tuesday night. Please email us if you are keen to attend so we can judge numbers for this session.

-- New Coach --

Our new coach this season is ITF1-qualified coach Jean-Charles (JC). He currently coaches out of Pukekohe East and is the head coach at other Counties Tennis Clubs.

He's a very good player himself (we have seen him in action) and comes highly recommended by Coach Nic. If you are looking for coaching before the start of Term 4 you can contact him about other group/private sessions he does - https://jctennis.co.nz/

Unfortunately we have a technical issue with our lights. We hope to have this sorted in the next week and will let you know when they're working again. Hope to see you down there especially as the weather warms up.

Please reply if your child is interested in playing Interclub on Saturdays. This will start the weekend after Labour day for the Counties series.

Hunua Tennis Club is gearing up for Term 4 and Term 1 coaching and we need to know who's interested in putting their kids into tennis lessons on Tuesday afternoons?

Tennis is a fantastic summer sport, these lessons are local and enjoyed by kids of all ages. All questions are welcome!

This Sunday, pop in to the Hunua Tennis Club for the always-fun Love Tennis day! There's a BBQ, treats and giveaways for the kids and the chance to have a go with a tennis racket or try pickleball for the first time. It's a great way to meet locals and have a good chat with wonderful people.

Hi all,

This is to advise that the Hunua Tennis Club AGM will be on the 18th of August at 7.30pm.

We are in need of new committee members to keep the club operational for the next generation of members.

We are looking for enthusiasm and new ideas in helping our little club provide tennis and other sporting activities to the Hunua community.

One area (but not limited to) we are desperately looking for help in is our social media. If you feel you can help out please come along.

We are also looking to present our new constitution due to the upcoming legislation changes

Junior Thursday Coaching - Starting next term on Thursday 19 October. If your children are returning to coaching, you can just email [email protected] to let Tim know.

Tim will wait until October 9 and then advise you of the coaching groups before school starts on October 14.

Coach Nic Burnie will again be our Club coach for the season.

Tuesday Night Senior Tennis - From 7pm till late

Currently we do have a few playing on Tuesday nights. (Tim calls this the double hard crew - more in the sense of braving the weather 😉)

If you are a fair weather player, we generally start seeing more people come down when Term 4 starts. If you want to start coming down now definitely come on down. Hope to see you down there especially as the weather starts warming up.
