2026 Whanganui Women’s Hockey Champions!!! 🤩

What a season! A brilliant way to finish on Tuesday night, bringing home the trophy!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us throughout the season. And a special mention to Richard Lambert, who was there cheering us on at every game, rain or shine!

Thank you to Ed, our coach and the rock of our team all season!

Another strong couple of weeks for Hunterville Hockey as we kicked off Round Two of the season!

Last week the team came away with a solid 2–0 win over Castlecliff, with Georgia Green named Player of the Day for a great performance.

Backing that up this week, the girls put together an outstanding 7–0 win against Collegians! Huge effort across the field, with Holly Smith taking out Player of the Day!

Player of the Day this week went to Kate McKellar, who had an outstanding game and gave it her all on the field. Well deserved, Kate! 👏🏑

What a group of superstars 🥰

Last night we lost the final to CC Red who simply played the better game. Congratulations to the CC Red Team 👏

Thank you to all those who have supported us this season. We are all proud to represent our little town and are stoked to have got as far as we did in 2025.

Most importantly, a huge thank you to Coach Ed Sherriff. He comes along to practice and games, keeps what could very easily be an unruly bunch in line and makes a big difference to our game through planning and strategy.

Look out 2026 - we'll be back 😉

Tomorrow night finals we take on Castlecliff 🤩

This is it... the final competitive matches of our Winter season take place this Tuesday (19.8.25), with the exciting conclusion of our Senior Women's League. Join us at the McDonald's Whanganui Hockey Stadium as we watch Waverley take on Marist in the 3rd-4th play-off at 6:10pm, followed by our grand-final at 7:30pm, where reigning champs Hunterville look to hold off competition rivals CC Red. See you there! Bring the family!

Score last night was 2-2! Which then meant shoot outs - that we won!
