The Coaching Clinic

The Coaching Clinic Helping professional women live healthy and happy. “I started The Coaching Clinic after my own health transformation. I became unhealthy, unfit and unconfident.

I’d put my work and career first for decades. The change I experienced was so powerful that I decided to keep going. Now I specialise in helping other professional ladies wanting to get back in control of their health and wellbeing, whilst balancing the demands of family, work and career. My coaching incorporates healthy eating, exercise and lifestyle practices and a program that's personally tail

ored to you. You’ll get the results you want, and the skills to maintain your results for life.”

I can feel it happening myself…

That little voice that says F*&% it till next year!

It’s the same voice that visits every year, and it tries to convince us that it’s okay to forget about our healthy habits.

The same habits we’ve worked hard to maintain during the year.

It makes no sense. These are the things that we know make us feel really good.

And we know that when we don’t do them, we don’t feel good, and we end up further away from our goals.

Whether it’s getting those workouts in, keeping the steps up or even just getting enough water and quality sleep – we convince ourselves that these things just don’t matter during the holidays.

It’s hard work. The internal monologues and the mind games we play with ourselves end up dominating our holidays.

At the same time, we end up blaming those one or two days during the holidays and even stress over how to avoid the things we really want on those special days.

Of course, we end up having the things we want anyway!

By the time we head back to work our clothes are tighter, and the scales have shifted the wrong way. And we end up feeling guilty and crap about ourselves.

Then that same little voice comes back to convince us that this is all just an inevitable part of the festive season.

But that’s just not true.

You can have the best of both worlds.

You can (and should) enjoy the holidays and all the food and drink that goes with it, and not end up in worse shape by the end of it.

Whilst you may have more social events and days “off plan” right now, it’s all the more reason to stay consistent during the holidays.

Have that second helping, eat the cake, finish the box of chocolates, have another wine – it’s the holidays!

But ALSO get your workout in, keep your steps up, drink your water, and get your beauty sleep!

So, as tempting as it might be to ditch everything until next year, DON’T.

Break the cycle instead and create a new habit of being consistent, whilst enjoying the days that matter the most.

After all, if we want results that last then we need to strike a lifestyle balance.

Do you crash in the afternoon? Or struggle with nighttime snacking? 😩

It's probably got a lot to do with breakfast!

Starting your day with a high protein breakfast will keep you fuller for longer and help regulate blood sugar.

The result:

🔋Heaps more energy, especially in the arvo.
🌙Far less cravings, especially at night.
😌Feeling more satisfied with smaller portions.

Give it a go and see what it does for you!

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲?

Here’s one: ✨“Every step counts” ✨
And here’s the proof from a recently published study of more than 28,000 people👇
Pretty much it was found that where average daily step count increased by 1,000, risk of death reduced by 12%.
And that was regardless of differences in age, BMI, health conditions, smoking status and alcohol intake.
Step intensity wasn’t a thing either. In other words, whether you walk, run or crawl - it doesn’t matter.
So whilst the general advice is for 10,000 steps a day, just consistently moving a bit more than you do now is enough.
If you’re around at 3,000 steps a day, 10,000 is a bit much. Why do that to yourself.
But could you add 1,000 to start? It’s enough to provide benefit, and you can build from there.
Besides, that’s how lasting change happens.
One step at a time 🌺

𝐒𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭?!🐿

Stay with me on this…

Squirrels spend the summer making sure they've got plenty of nuts & berries & acorns ready 🥜

When winter comes, they're sorted!

A little planning and prep on the weekend, can save you so much time during the week ⏰

And often, it’s the difference between staying on track or falling off the wagon!

So before the weekends’ through, be sure to do what you need to do…

👊𝐁𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐥!👊

Here’s some tips ⏬⏬⏬

✔️Decide on which busy days in the week ahead you’ll need pre-prepped meals.
✔️Jot down meal ideas. Keep it simple. Nothing 5 star.
✔️Get the shop done!
✔️Cook the time consuming stuff before Monday - meats, kūmara, pumpkin, potato etc.
✔️Soak hearty foods like whole grains, beans, and oats the night before.
✔️Do quicker stuff like washing, chopping, boiling etc. in the morning. And do it in bulk – slicing a few carrots is as fast as slicing one. Same with toasting almonds or chopping herbs.
✔️Two for one! Scrambled eggs for breakfast on Monday? Whisk four instead of two, and store the extra for Tuesday’s omelets.

Your sedentary desk job does not need to equal a sedentary lifestyle 🤔

1. Pick any bodyweight exercise
2. Set alarm to go off hourly throughout your day
3. Each time, do as many reps as you can in a min

Tomorrow, pick another exercise and repeat 🔁

Not your thing? How about…
✔️Taking the stairs
✔️Jumping off the bus early
✔️Parking further away
✔️Trying walking meetings
✔️Using the loo on a different floor
✔️Trying a standing desk
✔️Scheduling stretch breaks
✔️Taking a short walk during tea breaks
✔️Eating your lunch outside

I repeat, your sedentary desk job does not need to equal a sedentary lifestyle 🎉

It's a marathon. Not a sprint. Pace efforts & expectations 👟

Expect to fall over. That's life. You only fail if you choose to stay down 💪

Aiming for "perfection all the time" is a recipe for disaster. Go for "good most of the time” 💯

Do this 👇👇👇

Set timer at 15 min ⏱️

10 x Squats, 10 x Inchworms, 10 x Jumping Jacks, 30 sec rest.

Repeat as many times as you can in 15 min 🔁

Do it again tomorrow and beat today’s score.

Then again the next day.

And so on…

Congratulations 🎉

You just started a workout plan that you can do forever, anywhere, anytime, and without any equipment, a gym or a trainer.

Its only ever as complicated as you make it 😵‍💫
