Bookings are essential Houhora Fishing Club, where all the best tournaments are held!!Houhora is situated 40 kms north of Kaitaia and approximately halfway up the Aupouri Peninsula, although small in size Houhora has just about everything you need for your holiday. The Houhora Big Game & Sports Fishing Club (Inc) is New Zealand's most

northern fishing club. Nestled on the banks of the beautiful Houhora Harbour the clubroom has stunning views of the harbour and surrounding area. The Houhora Fishing Club's Restaurant & Bar is open Friday & Saturday nights from 5pm, with extended hours over the holiday season. The clubrooms are superbly located and have two large rooms available for functions with full bar facilities. Boat Ramps: An excellent 2 lane concrete ramp is located at the Houhora Fishing Club. We operate a barrier arm system which accepts $2 and $1 coins to access the ramp these funds are used for the continual upkeep of the ramp. The harbour entrance is bar free and the channel is well defined with marker buoys.

That friendly voice on the end of the radio, belonging to Annette Hall, is retiring this week. Marking the end of two decades of service to boaties at sea.

The Club would like to thank Annette for her dedication and service to the community in manning Far North Radio. Her support over countless competitions, and keeping a safe watch on our anglers, has been phenomenal.

In the meantime, please send your sea adventure plans by text message to *500 until the Coastguard get up and running, as they will take over this vital service.

Again, many thanks Annette. We wish you all the best for the next phase of your life and whatever that may entail… maybe a spot of fishing??

Demonstrated cooking and food hygiene skills, with a genuine interest in developing and advancing these abilities
A current LCQ Certificate and a desire to progress to the next stage of your hospitality career
A current Bar Manager’s Certificate and availability for a few days per week, with the potential for a more permanent role
