Forget about the newly elected pope, forget about the India and Pakistan tensions, there is bigger headline news afoot!!

Spikers game this Sunday! We take on the Shirley Wankers at Hinds for our first hit out of the year. A great chance to get the legs, lungs and drinking arm working prior to the Kings Birthday tournament. Kick off looks likely to be either 2:30 or 3pm (TBC)

Hello Athletes!!!!! - the schedule for this years Golden Oldies is now out - a magnificent season ahead with some of the districts finest athletes on show!

We kick off this Sunday 11th of May vs Temuka at Temuka

18th of May vs Shirley at Hinds,

1st of June Kings Birthday festival at Geraldine

15th of June vs Geraldine at Hinds,

Mt Somers and Dunsandel tbc

13th of July vs Springston at Springston.

Robert "Rabbit" McLaren - Funeral details

The funeral for Rabbit, who passed away at home on Saturday, will take place on Thursday, February 6, 2025, starting at 1.30pm, at Hindsbridge Farm, 1098 Hendersons Rd, Hinds, Ashburton 7773.
The marquee has been left in place from Shear for Life, which Rabbit was to have attended at Hindsridge on Saturday.
Following the service interment will take place at the Hinds Cemetery, Isleworth Rd, Hinds, and refreshments will be at the Southern Rugby Club, 103 Peters St, Hinds.

With Heavy Heart we say goodbye to the Spikers founding member, Godfather and our local legend Rabbit.

You will be missed in and around the Golden Oldies circuit being the life of the team keeping us entertained on and off the field. We will need to step up to entertain the kids with your tricks and sticking bottles to the wall which still amazes us
