Income
You decide how much you want to earn. We have franchisees earning $500 a week and we have franchisees earning $5000 a week. Your income is set by you and how hard and smart you work.
It's not just about mowing lawns you will also quote for jobs, do other jobs around a clients house, do work on your equipment, do client management things, do basic accounting things, you will market your business, be nice to clients even when you don't feel like it, pay the bills for your business.
The Brand
Mr Green was founded in NZ in 1992 and is still NZ owned.
It is the only lawn mowing based franchise system in the ‘top 3 by franchise numbers’ that is family owned and operated.
We are seen as a very trustworthy brand for a good reason.
Work Guarantee
When buying a Mr Green franchise you will get a minimum Work guarantee for the first year.
That means that we will guarantee that there is $1000, up to $3000 a week of work averaged out over 52 weeks.
You can buy whatever size franchise in terms of weekly work guarantee ie $1000 to $3000
Terms and conditions apply please see the franchise document. When you start your franchise you will be supplied with a client list of regular mowing clients plus you will be given one off jobs.
Training
We know that there are some things that you will be able to do without our help but rest assured that we are there to help you in all the areas of running your business, on how to mow quickly to how to invoice clients and everything else. . . .
We have been doing this for almost 30 years!!
We have your back
If you want to go on holiday or are sick and can't get around your clients talk with you Regional Master franchisor they can help by looking after your clients while you are away.
Insurance and Health and Safety
We have our own insurance broker that looks after all Mr Green’s insurances as you will need all the correct insurances in place before you start.
You must have all your business insurance with the Mr Green broker as it is only then that we know you are fully insured.
We also have our own external supplier for Health and Safety which you must belong.
Fuel
We have a BP fuel card through the NZ trucking association that gives around 40 cents off per litre of diesel and around 20 cents petrol. There are also great discounts through McKoewn group with their fuel card.
Flexible weekly fee
You can earn as much or as little as you want.
So our fee is just $100 a week for a $1000 work guarantee franchise plus gst or 10% of each weeks turnover whichever is the higher amount.
On a quiet week when you only turnover $1000 you pay $100 and on a busier week of say $3000 the fee is $300 plus gst.
We don't believe in locking you into a high weekly fee as there will be some quiet weeks out of your control due to weather.
Cost
Owning a business means that you are responsible for the costs.
These include; insurances which are typically around $2500 a year, ACC levies which are based on your income, fuel, rubbish dumping costs, equipment maintenance etc.
Client and job management systems
As you earn more money by actually working its important to reduce your office time that is why we suggest you use Nextminute for all your client and job management, this links in to Xero or MYOB so your accounting is made as easy as possible too.
You will need a smartphone and a computer to use these systems.
Vehicle and Signage
You will need to have a suitable vehicle and trailer with permanent approved Mr Green signage on one of them.
Signage plays a very important in getting new clients and building the Mr Green brand in your area.
Equipment
It's important that you have the correct gear so you do a good job and you do it efficiently.
You must buy new equipment not secondhand as old equipment tends to breakdown. You will need, mowers, w**d eater, blower, trailer and all the safety gear too.
