HGC ON TOUR – DAY 3: THE FINAL SHOWDOWN!

Day 3 of HGC on Tour started with more of a whimper than a run after the lads did their best to thoroughly investigate the local Irish pub scene in Palmerston North! The celebrations were flowing after the Kiwis’ big win over the Cook Islands in the Rugby League World Cup, although we're not sure everyone was in peak golfing condition the following morning!

Next stop: a very sunny, very windy Marton Golf Club for the final Tour Challenge. The boys arrived full of confidence, but Marton and the wind had other ideas! By the end of the round, a few scorecards were looking bruised, egos were taking a hit, and there were some very tired golfers wondering why they ever signed up for three days of this!

DAY 3 RESULTS

Some might say the cream rises to the top (at least one person) after Dan Cox claimed the final-day honours!

Graeme Yaxley – 31 points
Geoff Ragg – 31 points

HGC ON TOUR CHAMPION

But the big prize went to Anthony 'Duckie' Ropiha, who did enough with 30 points on the final day to take out the Tour Championship with an impressive 102 points!

Congratulations, Duckie! Three days of consistent golf and a well-deserved Tour Championship win. Andrew held on for second, while Dan's late charge nearly caused an upset. One more point and the post-tour celebrations might have looked very different!

THE BIG HITTER AWARD

A special mention to Brett Strange, who kicked off Day 3 with an impressive eagle! Brett also claimed the two-day challenge for those who joined the tour for two rounds. Clearly, he decided to save his best fireworks for the end!

TIME TO GO HOME!

After three days of golf, wind, questionable recovery strategies and plenty of banter, the lads faced a very tired trip home. There'll be a few sore bodies and some early nights ahead, although we're sure the stories will keep getting better! A big thanks to Dan Cox, our logistics co-ordinator over the 3 days.

HAMper SEASON IS HERE!

With hamper season upon us, the HGC on Tour crew will be heading out to enjoy some of our local courses and try their luck at winning a ham!

HGC ON TOUR – DAY 2: PARMY PUTS UP A FIGHT!

Another tough day for the HGC on Tour boys at Palmerston North Golf Club, with the wind getting up and making life interesting! A few golf balls went sightseeing, and there may have been the odd excuse or two flying around as well! 😂

Big Gary has called time on his tour after two days and plenty of golf around the Parmy course. Meanwhile, the boys welcomed Brett and Matty to the travelling circus, with the lads certainly getting plenty of value for their money!

Today’s Standouts: Anthony ‘Duckie’ Ropiha – 37 points. Andrew Lodge – 34 points. Graeme Yaxley – 34 points

Duckie is putting together a serious challenge, while the rest of the field are doing their best to keep him honest!

TOUR LEADERBOARD – ONE ROUND TO GO!

Ryan Cambie – 65 points

With just Marton Golf Club to go tomorrow, Duckie has a handy lead, but four points is far from a comfortable margin. There’s still time for a charge up the leaderboard… or a spectacular collapse!

HGC ON TOUR – DAY ONE DONE!

The boys hit Rangatira for Day One of the HGC on Tour, and the battle for weekend bragging rights is well and truly underway!

Duckie has taken the early lead with a cracking 35 points!

Andrew Lodge is hot on his heels with 34 points.

Ryan Cambie rounds out the top three with 33 points.

One point separating the top three… 👀 It’s tighter than a Duckie pre-shot routine! 😂

But there’s plenty of golf left, and the leaderboard could look very different after tomorrow’s action.

Next stop: Palmerston North tomorrow!

Will Duckie hold his nerve, will Andrew find another gear, or will Ryan come charging through the field? The excuses are probably already being prepared!

A fantastic turnout of teams and players kicked off the 2026 Business House season, with plenty of smiles, good golf and hopefully a few stories that got better as the night went on!
