Better late than never to announce our MVPs for the tournament!! 🏀

Men’s Masters Grade MVP – Jared Omelvena
Women’s Grade MVP – Molly Stevenson

Mertz tracked Jared down at work to present his award, while Molly received hers at prizegiving — unfortunately we didn’t manage to snap a photo! 📸

Both MVPs took home a grocery voucher. Congratulations again to you both and thank you for being part of another awesome tournament!

Thank you to everyone who travelled near and far to attend the Paddy Manu Basketball Tournament. It was awesome to see such great talent on display, along with so many familiar faces returning year after year.

A big thank you to our referees for leading the games — it is awesome to see the young talent coming through in this space.

To Justin, our MC — we always enjoy having you as part of our tournament, both on and off the court. Safe to say you’re officially part of the Hāwera whānau now.

Our committee will be taking a short break to reset, and we’ll be back on socials later in the year with updates for 2027 including return of the men’s grade — so keep an eye out!
