This why we don’t acknowledge bullying. Instead it’s all about building their confidence and self esteem so that they know they belong to a big whanau MMA International. They are never alone they will always belong! And they are equipped with skills to defend themselves physically if they have to.
They have an annual Tournament in a couple of weeks where they can put their skills to the test. So they don’t need to fight in the streets or become a victim.

Osu MMA whanau, what a year is has been. We have gained more schools, more tamariki and are growing at a comfortable pace. Our Mixed Martial Artists come from the following Primary schools, Bledisloe, Marewa, Riverslea, Bridge Pa and Ebbet Park. It is for the good grace of having forward thinking Principals who take a great interest in the well being of their tamariki that we have been given opportunities to work in their schools with them. Together we encourage all tamariki to become involved. Its very physical and vocal where we ask that they put all of their energy into it. Kick hard, punch hard and yell hard! By the time we finish their sessions they are pretty happy its over😁🥋But they are learning resilience, respect and discipline just to name a few things. By its very nature martial arts brings that out of people anyway. But more than that, we have the pleasure of spending time with and sharing our knowledge with really cool people! We get so much enjoyment from our tamariki watching them learn and grow, its an honour to do what we do, we are very lucky.
We have an annual National Karate Tournament which will be held on 29th September 2018 at Hastings Intermediate where our schools will also have their own division to compete in. This year is the 49th tournament leading into next years 50th Grand. And so we will be opening a Dojo in Napier and one in Hastings in a month that will accommodate after school training for all of our MMA (last year included) and open to anyone else who would like to take up Martial Arts. We will keep you all posted and will put up some photos shortly of our MMA Tamariki and our trainings. If you are interested in attending or competing in our annual tournament please contact us and we will give you further details, nga mihi Rhonda and James

Kia ora MMA Whanau, we hope 2018 is being good to you all and that the weather is starting to cool down a little.

We are pleased to say we are back running our MIxed Martial Arts (MMA} Tamariki Toa program in the Schools again. Bledisloe and Marewa Primary have renewed their contracts with us and speak positively about what we do. Which we are very grateful for their support and faith and which in the long term is only going to be beneficial for ALL as a community.

Our concept is to promote a Mixture of Martial Arts as a form of phycical self defence, but more importantly we use the philosophies of martial arts in conjunction with Whanaungatanga to instil discipline and respect and a sense of self and purpose. We have seen our tamariki grow within this whanau and to be a positive part of their journey in life is very important to us.

"Ka pu' te ruha, ka hao te Rangatahi"
The old net is cast aside while the new net goes a catching.

We like this phrase as it says a lot about how we work, there is never a time in life where you should ever feel like you have no other options left!! Take it in, feel it, grieve it then let it go! Then come to our class and have a good blowout and feel good about yourself again!

🥋🥋+ Msg - Our original MMA from Marewa and Bledisloe Primary last year, could you all please PM Shihan and I. We want to know how you are all going in your new schools and we would like to invite you to our National Annual Karate Tournament in June in Hastings. So please message us and tell your fellow MMA that dont read this to do the same. Cant wait to hear from you all

Also we would love to hear from any Martial Artists who may have a few hours spare a day to run classes. We are looking for a female and a male preferably so please PM us if you can pass a Police vett check, Character References, live cleanly and have spare time.

Thankyou, we cant wait to get started and we look forward to our journey this year,

Naku noa. na

Happy New Year everyone, we hope you are all enjoying your holidays. We were privileged to recieve a video of Ocean Newton perfecting her skills with her Dad and Mum and felt so proud of her techniques and her skills and how her Mum and Dad support her so much. Thankyou for keeping in touch and showing us how you are progressing. We want to follow our Originals all the way so we will be pushing into Intermediate and High schools as well as Primary. Oceans Mum has shown an interest in starting training herself so we will be starting up classes after school for all of our Parents and Caregivers that wish to take up Self-Defence Mixed Martial Arts. Thankyou for being there and wanting the best for yourself and your tamariki rangatahi. We cant wait to recommence and grow our MMA whanau. Take care, enjoy your time with each other and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2018, Arohanui Shihan James and I xoxoxoxoxoxox
