Osu MMA whanau, what a year is has been. We have gained more schools, more tamariki and are growing at a comfortable pace. Our Mixed Martial Artists come from the following Primary schools, Bledisloe, Marewa, Riverslea, Bridge Pa and Ebbet Park. It is for the good grace of having forward thinking Principals who take a great interest in the well being of their tamariki that we have been given opportunities to work in their schools with them. Together we encourage all tamariki to become involved. Its very physical and vocal where we ask that they put all of their energy into it. Kick hard, punch hard and yell hard! By the time we finish their sessions they are pretty happy its over😁🥋But they are learning resilience, respect and discipline just to name a few things. By its very nature martial arts brings that out of people anyway. But more than that, we have the pleasure of spending time with and sharing our knowledge with really cool people! We get so much enjoyment from our tamariki watching them learn and grow, its an honour to do what we do, we are very lucky.
We have an annual National Karate Tournament which will be held on 29th September 2018 at Hastings Intermediate where our schools will also have their own division to compete in. This year is the 49th tournament leading into next years 50th Grand. And so we will be opening a Dojo in Napier and one in Hastings in a month that will accommodate after school training for all of our MMA (last year included) and open to anyone else who would like to take up Martial Arts. We will keep you all posted and will put up some photos shortly of our MMA Tamariki and our trainings. If you are interested in attending or competing in our annual tournament please contact us and we will give you further details, nga mihi Rhonda and James
