Every year we have the privilege of running the Hastings Boys’ High School Interhouse Tug of War, and honestly, it’s one of the highlights of our calendar! 💪🏽🏆

The fierce house rivalries, the roaring support from the sidelines, and watching the whole kura come together creates an atmosphere that’s hard to beat.

While it’s a day the rangatahi, kaiako, and wider school community look forward to, it’s just as special for us. Seeing these young men throw themselves into the sport, work together as a team, dig deep, and discover a passion for tug of war is exactly why we do what we do.

Who knows… maybe we’re watching a few future Hawke’s Bay representatives in action! 😉

A huge thank you to Hastings Boys’ High School for continuing to support this awesome tradition. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Good afternoon! A wonderful weekend was had at the New Zealand Tug O War Championship on Saturday in Te Awamutu. We are now wanting to collate photos and videos taken to post on our page. Next weekend is the big one. The new zealand champs.

Agm Friday the 26th of June time and place to tbc

Saturday weigh in opens at 7am for those doing the iron man and iron women plus those who want to be considered for the new zealand select team.

11am iron man and women starts te awamutu marist rugby club

From 12pmish the new zealand zealand tug of war champs.

2.30pm the new zealand team announced and new zealand team pull

Prize giving.

Lindsay funeral will now happen at the crematorium in Hastings and then go to the national service club afterwards.

Sad news to report today.

Life member and Hawkes Bay Tug Of War legend Lindsay Schroder passed away this morning at 11.53 surrounded by love ones and family after a long battle with dementia. All welcome to his funeral Monday 25th of May at the national service club in hastings 1pm. 201 avenue rd Please share this gar and wide to the power pulling community. Tug Of War was Lindsay's life work and the Schroder family are still heavily involved in and active in the sport still to this very day.
