Hi all, it’s our swim clubs first day in the new pool tomorrow!! They are now offering masters classes for anyone wanting to get pool time in as well as teen fitness classes and a squad for kids who are done with swim school but might want to carry on to possibly join a competitive squad later on. Anyone wanting more info sing out. Stef
Tomorrow Sundevils enter an exciting new era!!
This is the timetable we are going to kick things off with. The first major restructure in the last 10 years. And while I don't feel like anything we had was broken, this is a great opportunity to serve swimmers needs better! Competitive squads will continue down the path of being based around the social needs and peer levels, and putting it on us coaches to challenge the swimmers within that. Nobody ever quit the sport of swimming because there basics were too good...but plenty have quit because they were pulled away from or their friends pulled away from them just based on swim speed... Not the case at Sundevils. Look after the person first to create the superior swimmer down the line.
The aim will continue to be superior swimmer retention through a positive experience everyone on the team contributes to. Right up to an international standard which is already present within our team.
For the first time in a very long time we will have space to accomodate not just competitive swimmers...but teen fitness, masters and a mini squad to prepare kids for competitive swimming on our team. All exciting stuff!! I think I'm still going to look at adding one more evening session for masters, TBC. These squads will create their own unique energy and flavour within the wider Sundevils team. I'm really excited to have them onboard.
The new non comp squads (teen fitness, masters, little devils) will kick off on 12th of September once we have the competitive squads shifted and underway.
Anyone wanting to join up get in touch.
