I thought Id drop out a an update as to the start dates for 2026

2026 Term 1 Start Dates

* Jan 13 - Tuesday - Fitness & Bouting - All welcome
* Jan 15 - Thursday - No Fencing
* Jan 17 - Saturday - No Fencing
* Jan 20 - Tuesday - Fencing & 1-1 Lessons
* Jan 22 - Thursday - Musketeers, Advanced Epee, Fitness, Footwork, Fencing & 1-1 Lessons
* Jan 24 - Saturday - Musketeers, The Lunge Club, Advanced Sabre, Fencing & 1-1 Lessons
* Jan 27 onwards - Fencing as normal through term 1

The Lunge Club

After last years very successful parents have-a-go we are going to try a parents only session over term 1 called “The Lunge Club”, this will be run by myself and Ollie and will be appropriately focused. (I have a standing promise of no burpees for parents) :)

Lunge club will run from 8-9 AM every Saturday and all gear will be provided, We will order additional chest guards etc as needed. I beelive the plan is for parents then to head to the Stag and get a coffee?

Anyway - we looking forward to seeting you all soon!

Central Camp and Central Open Update 3 (IMPORTANT - Merch Orders close this Sunday!)

Entries are beginning to ramp up (Attendees list is updated), coaches are ready, the talks are locked in, and now we can confirm that there will be a Social BBQ on Saturday. (6-10 PM)

Its that's time again where Fencing Central in association with Hawke's Bay Blades/B C Fencing runs its yearly camp in the sunny Hawke's Bay at Havelock North High School.

We are excited to have the following 3 coaches take the lead this year over the course of 3 days. They will be supported by other national coaches and should any coach which to attend/participate they are welcome. (Please see the form)

Last night there was an incident between 2 tenants in the building we occupy. Thankfully Hawkes Bay Blades was not involved however it involved a young person irresponsibly driving their vehicle and they reversed into another person's car.

We are all fortunate that no one was hit/hurt as a kid's class had just ended however it serves as a timely reminder that the space we are in is shared and public, and there are a lot of kids, adults and pets being walked so this serves as a timely reminder.

I'll be clear; if anyone from or associated with Hawkes Bay Bay acts in this manner, we will take the matter incredibly seriously and It may lead to suspension/termination of your membership as we consider this behaviour as Anti-social and Recklessly Dangerous.

All class attendees will be reminded of this over the next week.

Trefoil is a ranked event in 2024.
