The Hanmer Springs Ski Area offers NZ grassroots skiing at its best! The fun, super affordable and relaxed culture of the club run mountain sets it worlds apart from the slick, corporate options of today. The ski field is ideal for both beginner to advanced skiers and snowboarders and the self cater, cosyday lodge, deck AND awesome on mountain accommodation, make it great mountain experience for y

our whole group. From the base area we have a tailor made groomed learners area to get you started, with a fixed grip learners tow and our instructors are on hand for group and private lessons. The Shirtfront rope tow accesses groomed intermediate and off piste runs and provides a great access point for the large Bordeaux Basin which in 2017 can be skied via traverse, hike and touring.

Working bee coming up next weekend on the 16th & 17th of May.

Main job will be extending the Shift Front Tow back to the top and putting out the new rope.

A big thanks to Mainland Foundation for the grant to purchase this.

As always, there will be a few other things to do, like firewood, w**d whacking around the huts and maintenance on the tow lines, etc.

All and any hands are welcome, and of course, come up, stay and make a weekend of it! A few will be heading up on Friday night. Drop us a line if you are keen to join us.

Road is open, 2WD please fit your chains at South Col.
Snow play is only $30 for a family, and there is plenty of play to be had up here. We have toboggans here for you to use.

Bed available tonight, $60 per person or $130 for a family.

Sunny, going to be a stunning day.
Autumn conditions at their best…… Thin in some places, deeper in others. Going to be a lot of fun.
Rope tow is open, only a 15-minute hike to the top to get to even better snow.
Road is open, 2WD please fit your chains at Branch Creek, 4WD please carry them.
Snow play is only $30 for a family, and there is plenty of play to be had up here. 😊
